Player News
David Moss
Coyotes' Moss Claims First Point
David Moss, RW, ARI
8:36 AM
News: David Moss was credited with an assist in Tuesday's shootout loss to the Predators.
Analysis: It was the first point of the season for David Moss, a third-liner who offers only modest contributions on the offensive end. He actually hiked up his shot attempts to a career-best 151 in 79 games last season, but that could prove to be the high-water mark for the 32-year-old.

Grant Clitsome
Jets' Clitsome Gets Assist In First Appearance
Grant Clitsome, D, WPG
8:30 AM
News: Grant Clitsome made his season debut for the Jets on Tuesday versus the Hurricanes, recording an assist in his 15:24 of action.
Analysis: Grant Clitsome had been a healthy scratch for the Jets' first five games, but his performance Tuesday may be enough to get him more regular run in the lineup. In addition to his offensive exploits, Clitsome was active on his own end against Carolina, accumulating four hits.

Dustin Byfuglien
Jets' Byfuglien Nabs Goal In Victory
Dustin Byfuglien, RW, WPG
8:25 AM
News: Dustin Byfuglien tallied an unassisted goal in Tuesday's victory over the Hurricanes.
Analysis: Dustin Byfuglien has only two points (both goals) in his six games this season, but it certainly hasn't been due to a lack of effort. He's compiled 18 penalty minutes, 16 hits and a team-high 25 shots on goal, resulting in a plus-4 rating for the converted defenseman. Once the Jets get things clicking on a power-play unit that has yet to score in six games, the points could come in droves for Byfuglien, who has historically excelled with the man advantage.

Jiri Tlusty
Carolina's Tlusty Scores Goal Tuesday
Jiri Tlusty, LW, CAR
8:20 AM
News: Jiri Tlusty was responsible for the Hurricanes' only goal in Tuesday's loss to the Jets.
Analysis: Aside from his Oct. 11 hat trick against the Islanders, Jiri Tlusty's offense has mostly been nonexistent, and the same could be said for just about all of his mates. His five points are tied for tops on the team with Chris Terry, despite the fact that the duo has combined for only 13 shots on goal in Carolina's five games.

Pavel Datsyuk
Red Wings' Datsyuk Gets Assist In Season Debut
Pavel Datsyuk, C, DET
8:12 AM
News: Pavel Datsyuk notched an assist in his season debut Tuesday versus the Canadiens.
Analysis: Pavel Datsyuk hooked up with longtime co-star Henrik Zetterberg for the Red Wings' only goal of the night. The 36-year-old was otherwise a non-factor in his 18:05 of ice time Tuesday, failing to register a single shot attempt, hit or block. His activity should pick up as he becomes further removed from the shoulder injury that resulted in his missing the first five games of the season.

Danny DeKeyser
Red Wings' DeKeyser Nabs A Point
Danny DeKeyser, D, DET
8:08 AM
News: Danny DeKeyser assisted on the Red Wings' lone goal in Tuesday's overtime loss to the Canadiens.
Analysis: Re-signed to a two-year deal in September, Danny DeKeyser is a valued member of the Red Wings' defensive corps, but is little more than deep-league fodder for fantasy purposes. He's registered two points in six games and doesn't produce overwhelming numbers in specialty categories like hits, blocks and penalty minutes.

Jimmy Howard
Wings' Howard Plays Well In Return, Falls In OT
Jimmy Howard, G, DET
8:04 AM
News: Jimmy Howard (groin) stopped 34 of 36 shots in his return to the net Tuesday versus the Canadiens.
Analysis: After he was ruled out for the past weekend with the groin issue, Jimmy Howard looked to be back in his usual form Tuesday before folding late. The Red Wings controlled the game for the first two periods while holding a 1-0 lead, but Howard's shutout bid ended with just over three minutes remaining, as he lost sight of the puck on Alex Galchenyuk's game-tying tally. He would then yielded the winning marker to David Desharnais in the extra period to take his second OT loss of the season.

Rick Nash
Rangers' Nash Builds On NHL Goal Lead
Rick Nash, LW, NYR
7:55 AM
News: Rick Nash scored his league-leading eighth goal in Tuesday's overtime win over the Devils.
Analysis: Rick Nash has raced out to a torrid start to his 2014-15 season, tallying three more goals than any other player in the NHL. The winger drew a lot of heat for his disappearing act in the Rangers' run to the Stanley Cup last season, but his hot start through the team's first seven games has helped him quiet his critics.

Nick Leddy
Isles' Leddy Settling In
Nick Leddy, D, NYI
7:40 AM
News: Nick Leddy bagged the game's first goal in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: Nick Leddy fired a wrist shot in the slot past Toronto's Jonathan Bernier for his third goal and fourth point in four games. He appears to be adapting quite well in moving from Chicago to Long Island, as he's seen an increase in scoring opportunities while averaging three minutes more ice time with the Isles.

Frans Nielsen
Isles' Nielsen Notches Assist In Loss
Frans Nielsen, C, NYI
7:37 AM
News: Frans Nielsen gathered his fourth assist of the season in Tuesday's loss to the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: Frans Nielsen is still in search of his first goal of the season after potting 25 in 2013-14, but he's at least been a productive facilitator on the Isles' third line. Don't expect him to provide much value in anything but the non-scoring categories, as he's never been an especially prolific hitter or blocker on defense.
