Player News
Andrew Shaw
Chicago's Shaw Gets First Point Of Playoffs
Andrew Shaw, C, CHI
7:17 AM
News: Andrew Shaw potted his first goal of the playoffs in Wednesday's Game 4 win over the Blues.
Analysis: Andrew Shaw's marker was somewhat fluky in nature, as Jonathan Toews' slapshot bounced off Shaw's skate, with the forward collecting the puck and back-handing it into the net. The return of the previously-injured Toews and Patrick Kane for the postseason has pushed Shaw out of his top-line role, which could limit his offensive opportunities compared to the tail end of the regular season.

Bryan Bickell
Hawks' Bickell Notches First Goal Of Playoffs
Bryan Bickell, LW, CHI
7:13 AM
News: Bryan Bickell scored his first goal of the postseason in Wednesday's Game 4 victory over the Blues.
Analysis: The surprise hero of last season's Stanley Cup run, Bryan Bickell's flair for the postseason was evident once again Wednesday. His score with four minutes left in regulation tied the game at 3-3, while the winger also provided a team-leading seven hits defensively.

Derek Roy
Blues' Roy Returns To Lineup
Derek Roy, C, STL
7:10 AM
News: After serving as a healthy scratch in Game 3, Derek Roy returned to the lineup for Wednesday's Game 4 loss to the Blackhawks, logging 10:43 of ice time.
Analysis: Derek Roy was able to muster three shots on goal in the loss, but it appears he's no longer viewed as cornerstone player offensively for the Blues. His 10:43 of ice time was about three minutes less than he averaged during the regular season.

Patrick Kane
Kane Propels Blackhawks To Victory In Game 4
Patrick Kane, RW, CHI
7:09 AM
News: Patrick Kane scored the game-winning goal in overtime Wednesday against the Blues and supplied another goal and an assist in regulation.
Analysis: Held to just three shot attempts over Game 2 and 3, Patrick Kane provided the Blackhawks with his best performance since returning from the left leg injury that sidelined him for the remaining 12 games of the regular season. Last year's Conn Smythe Trophy winner looks like he could be gearing up for another run at the award in 2014.

Vladimir Tarasenko
Blues' Tarasenko Stays Sizzling
Vladimir Tarasenko, RW, STL
7:02 AM
News: Vladimir Tarasenko found the net for two goals in Wednesday's Game 4 loss to the Blackhawks.
Analysis: Coming off a hand injury that cost him the last month of the regular season, Vladimir Tarasenko has been phenomenal through four games in the series. He's tallied four goals on 15 shot attempts against the Blackhawks.

Corey Crawford
Solid Outing In Game 4 For Blackhawks' Crawford
Corey Crawford, G, CHI
7:00 AM
News: Corey Crawford stopped 30 of 33 shots in Wednesday's Game 4 victory over the Blues.
Analysis: Wednesday's performance wasn't nearly as sterling as the shutout he earned in Game 3, but Corey Crawford did just enough to outplay opposing goalie Ryan Miller. Crawford has posted save percentages above .900 in three of his four outings during the series.

Ryan Miller
Miller, Blues Fall In Overtime Wednesday
Ryan Miller, G, STL
6:59 AM
News: Ryan Miller made 30 saves but allowed four goals -- including Patrick Kane's game-winner in overtime -- in Wednesday's Game 4 loss to the Blackhawks.
Analysis: After stopping 23 of 24 shots in Monday's Game 3 loss, Ryan Miller wasn't quite as good two days later, as the Blackhawks were ultimately able to tie the series. Despite his inconsistent play for the last month, Miller has a stranglehold on the starting goalie job and will almost certainly be in the net for Game 5.

David Backes
Blues' Backes Iffy For Wednesday
David Backes, C, STL
12:28 AM
News: Coach Ken Hitchcock did not elaborate on the status of David Backes (head) for Wednesday's Game 4 against the Blackhawks, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis: We do know that David Backes wasn't on the ice for the team's Wednesday morning skate, so his status for the Blues' evening tilt against Chicago remains cloudy. When asked if Backes might play Wednesday, all Hitchcock would reveal was, "he wasn't available for the pre-game skate."

Vernon Fiddler
Stars' Fiddler Adds Goal, Assist In Win
Vernon Fiddler, C, DAL
4/23/2014
News: Vernon Fiddler recorded a goal and an assist in Wednesday's win over the Ducks.
Analysis: Vernon Fiddler also picked up a 10-minute misconduct penalty at the 17:50 mark of the third period as things got chippy between the two teams at the end of the game. The two points were Fiddler's first of the series, as the Stars' third line dominated most of the night.

Shawn Horcoff
Stars' Horcoff Adds Two Helpers In Win
Shawn Horcoff, C, DAL
4/23/2014
News: Shawn Horcoff chipped in two assists in Wednesday's win over the Ducks.
Analysis: The center has found the score sheet in each of the last three games, and now has four points in the playoffs. He and Vernon Fiddler were an unexpected source of secondary scoring Wednesday, giving the Stars another offensive threat other than the Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin line.
