Player News
Matt Beleskey
Ducks' Beleskey Out Friday
Matt Beleskey, LW, ANA
4/19/2014
News: Matt Beleskey (lower body) will not play in Friday's game against the Stars.
Analysis: The nature and extent of Matt Beleskey's setback are uncertain, but whatever ailment he is dealing with will prevent him from taking the ice Friday. Consider him questionable for Monday's Game 3.

Ryan Getzlaf
Ducks' Getzlaf Will Play Friday
Ryan Getzlaf, C, ANA
4/19/2014
News: As expected, Ryan Getzlaf will play Friday against the Stars.
Analysis: Ryan Getzlaf took a puck to the face in the Ducks' playoff opener Wednesday, but that won't prevent him from suiting up for the second game of the series Friday night. While Getzlaf will take the ice Friday, he will be without one of his regular linemates, as Matt Beleskey (lower body) will not play.

Ryan Miller
Despite Shaky Start, Blues' Miller Wins Game 1
Ryan Miller, G, STL
4/19/2014
News: After gifting the Blackhawks three goals on just seven first-period shots Thursday, Ryan Miller was perfect the rest of the way, turning aside the next 35 in a 4-3 triple overtime win in Game 1.
Analysis: The nightmarish start by Ryan Miller caused panic among the Scottrade Center faithful, but the veteran netminder settled in nicely to prevent a seventh straight Blues loss. He got a little help by Max Lapierre -- who prevented an overtime goal when he covered a gaping net to stone the Blackhawks' Kris Versteeg -- but sometimes you've gotta be good to be lucky. Miller and the Blues should tighten things up even further when Game 2 goes Saturday afternoon.

Carey Price
Price Almost Perfect In Montreal Win
Carey Price, G, MON
6:55 PM
News: Carey Price allowed one goal on 27 shots in Friday's 4-1 win over Tampa Bay in Game 2 of their Atlantic Division semifinal series.
Analysis: The game was a marked improvement from Game 1 where Carey Price surrendered four goals on 25 shots. The Habs take a 2-0 series lead back to Montreal where Price has been rather solid this season. Montreal is in complete control of this series and Price can make it a quick one if he gets into lockdown mode.

Teddy Purcell
Purcell Scores Lone Goal For Tampa Bay
Teddy Purcell, RW, TB
6:50 PM
News: Teddy Purcell scored Tampa Bay's only goal in Friday's 4-1 loss to Montreal in Game 2 of their Atlantic Division semifinal series.
Analysis: Teddy Purcell had been rather quiet in the final third of the season with just two goals in 31 games (none in 30) but the goal came with Tampa Bay already losing 4-0. The Bolts will need a player like Purcell, who had some decent looks Friday, to get on the scoreboard if they're going to send the series back to Florida for Game 5.

Anders Lindback
Lindback Chased in Bolts Game 2 Loss
Anders Lindback, G, TB
6:43 PM
News: Anders Lindback allowed three goals on 23 shots in Friday's Game 2 Atlantic Division Semifinal loss to Montreal, leaving the game with 8:14 left in the period.
Analysis: Anders Lindback likely will be in goal for Sunday's Game 3 if Ben Bishop (arm) still is unavailable to play. Lindback played tremendously in the week leading up to the playoffs, but the Bolts have lost home ice and the towering Swede has allowed eight goals in two games. Tampa Bay faces a must-win in Game 3 and Lindback will have to be better.

Chris Kelly
Bruins' Kelly (Back) Out For Opener
Chris Kelly, C, BOS
4:28 PM
News: Chris Kelly (back) wasn't on the ice for warmups and will miss the team's opener against the Red Wings on Friday.
Analysis: Chris Kelly hasn't played since April 8 due to the back injury and won't take the ice for Game 1 on Friday. He is still considered day-to-day but hasn't made any encouraging steps to indicate his return in the near future.

Matt Bartkowski
Bruins' Bartkowski (Undisclosed) Out Friday
Matt Bartkowski, D, BOS
4:21 PM
News: Matt Bartkowski (undisclosed) will miss Game 1 on Friday after not appearing in warmups.
Analysis: Matt Bartkowski hasn't skated all week so his absence in the warmups and Game 1 isn't shocking. He will probably be questionable for Game 2 as well, and will join Daniel Paille, Chris Kelly and Kevan Miller as injury-related scratches for Game 1.

Daniel Paille
Bruins' Paille (Undisclosed) Out Friday
Daniel Paille, LW, BOS
4:15 PM
News: Daniel Paille (undisclosed) didn't skate in warmups on Friday and will sit for Game 1.
Analysis: Daniel Paille skated for the first time this week on Friday morning which was an encouraging sign for his status in Game 1, but it appears he won't play. He will likely join Matt Bartkowski, Kevan Miller, and Chris Kelly in being out of the lineup for the series opener.

Ondrej Palat
Lightning's Palat (Upper Body) Out Friday
Ondrej Palat, LW, TB
3:49 PM
News: Ondrej Palat (upper body) will miss Friday's game against the Canadiens, Damian Cristodero of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: Ondrej Palat was dealing with an upper-body injury before the series but was able to go for Wednesday's game. He then suffered an injury in what looked like a knee-on-knee collision in Game 1 and some sort of injury (or combination) will keep him out of Game 2. It appears the Lightning have decided to go with Anrej Sustr in his place.
