Christian Ehrhoff
Penguins' Ehrhoff Practices Again
Christian Ehrhoff, D, PIT
7:39 AM
News: Christian Ehrhoff, who was scratched from the lineup Sunday against the Blue Jackets, practiced again Tuesday, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis: With back-to-back practices under his belt, Christian Ehrhoff appears ready for action as the Penguins' four-game road trip (which begins Wednesday against the Avs) approaches.

Sergei Bobrovsky
Blue Jackets' Bobrovsky Poised To Return
Sergei Bobrovsky, G, CLB
7:34 AM
News: Sergei Bobrovsky (groin) appears on track to start Tuesday's game against the Caps, Jeff Rimer of FOX Sports Ohio reports.
Analysis: We'll await confirmation of the assignment, but assuming Sergei Bobrovsky does draw Tuesday's start, it will be his first turn in net since Jan. 21, following a 17-game absence.

Patrick Marleau
Sharks' Marleau Scores Again Monday
Patrick Marleau, C, SJ
7:08 AM
News: Patrick Marleau scored his 15th goal of the season -- and fourth in five games -- in Monday's 4-0 shutout victory over the visiting Canadiens.
Analysis: Patrick Marleau has a nice little three-game goal streak on the go, inching himself closer to the 20-goal plateau for what would be the 13th time in his career. His overall numbers this year are still a disappointment -- 15 goals, 46 points, a minus-16 rating and 188 SOG after posting 33 goals, 70 points, an even rating and 285 SOG last season -- but there's still plenty of value to be had here. Keep him active and cross your fingers that he stays motivated as the Sharks will need a total team effort if they hope to make the playoffs for the 11th straight season.

Joe Pavelski
Sharks' Pavelski Continues To Roll
Joe Pavelski, C, SJ
6:31 AM
News: Joe Pavelski put up a goal and an assist in Monday's 4-0 shutout over the visiting Canadiens.
Analysis: Little Joe just continues to roll, having recorded 59 points in 64 games this season. More impressively, since Jan. 13, he hasn't gone pointless in consecutive games, piling up 22 points -- split evenly between goals and assists -- in 21 games. Joe Pavelski is right in line with last year's 41-goal, 79-point breakout, and will need to continue to score with regularity for the Sharks to have any hope of extending their playoff streak to 11 straight seasons.

Ben Smith
Smith Impresses in Sharks' Debut
Ben Smith, RW, SJ
6:22 AM
News: Ben Smith wasted no time making an impact with his new team Monday, potting a goal -- the game winner -- and chipping in an assist in a 4-0 win over the Canadiens.
Analysis: Just hours after being traded to the Sharks from Chicago, Ben Smith opened the scoring 6:51 into the first period. He spent the majority of the game centering the third line between Tomas Hertl and Tommy Wingels which -- at least in theory -- could be a productive combo for Smith with the skill of Hertl and toughness of Wingels. Smith also went 7-for-10 in the faceoff dot, so overall it was an impressive debut for the 26-year-old.

Alex Stalock
Second Shutout Of Season For Sharks' Stalock
Alex Stalock, G, SJ
5:33 AM
News: Alex Stalock was perfect Monday, stopping all 20 shots in a 4-0 shutout over the visiting Canadiens.
Analysis: The Sharks' backup has made just 14 starts this season, posting a 6-7-1 record with two shutouts. He's been rather dismal with a 2.66 GAA and .904 save percentage -- which actually are in the same ballpark as starter Antti Niemi's 2.62 and .912 marks. However, even though the Sharks were rumored to be trying to deal Niemi before Monday's trade deadline, the fact remains that Niemi has made 48 starts this season and has a Stanley Cup under his belt, so he's more than likely going to get the bulk of the starts the rest of the way in San Jose. With that in mind, Alex Stalock makes for one of the least attractive backup 'tenders in the league -- at least for now.

P.A. Parenteau
Habs' Parenteau Returns
P.A. Parenteau, RW, MON
3:09 AM
News: P.A. Parenteau returned to the lineup Monday night after an extended absence due to a concussion. He skated 10:21 in a 4-0 loss to the Sharks.
Analysis: P.A. Parenteau started the game on the fourth line and was then moved around as head coach Michel Therrien experimented with combinations in an effort to stoke some sort of offense. We'll need to see how Therrien adjusts his lines after the Canadiens added forwards Torrey Mitchell and Brian Flynn at Monday's trade deadline. After Monday's performance, you know those two newcomers will be in the lineup Wednesday against Anaheim. Parenteau will fit somewhere on the third or fourth lines for now.

Carey Price
Habs' Price Takes Loss
Carey Price, G, MON
3:01 AM
News: Carey Price stopped 33 of 37 shots in Monday night's 4-0 loss to the Sharks. It was just his second loss in the last 11 starts.
Analysis: Carey Price wasn't bad in this game, rather it was the team in front of him that couldn't stop the San Jose onslaught. Including shots that missed or were blocked by defensemen, the Sharks had 71 forays to the net, compared to Montreal's 48. This was a case of a desperate team needing a win and dominating play.

Jeff Petry
Habs' Petry Makes Debut
Jeff Petry, D, MON
2:55 AM
News: Jeff Petry arrived in time for Monday night's game against San Jose and played 18:15 in a 4-0 loss to the Sharks. The defenseman was traded from Edmonton to Montreal earlier in the day.
Analysis: Jeff Petry arrived a couple of hours before game time, got a quick lay of the land from assistant coach J.J. Daigneault, and then skated on a top-4 pairing with Sergei Gonchar.

Michael Bournival
Habs' Bournival Reassigned To AHL Hamilton
Michael Bournival, LW, MON
12:58 AM
News: Michael Bournival was reassigned to AHL Hamilton on Monday, TSN's John Lu reports.
Analysis: Forward P.A. Parenteau (concussion) will finally rejoin the lineup, and defenseman Jeff Petry was recently acquired in a trade. The Habs will thus reassign both Michael Bournival and Greg Pateryn, freeing up room for a pair of proven veterans. Bournival only has five points through 29 NHL appearances this season, but he does have eight points in just seven AHL games.
