Player News
Ryan Getzlaf
Ducks' Getzlaf Takes Shot To Foot
Ryan Getzlaf, C, ANA
12:53 PM
News: Ryan Getzlaf briefly left Wednesday's game against Montreal late in the third period after blocking a shot with his left foot.
Analysis: He returned shortly thereafter, but keep an eye on Ryan Getzlaf's status in the next few days in case he'll be forced to miss any time. Getzlaf leads all NHL forwards with 81 blocked shots this season.

Rickard Rakell
Ducks' Rakell Ends Goal Drought
Rickard Rakell, C, ANA
12:43 PM
News: Rickard Rakell ended a 15-game goalless skid with a second-period tally in Wednesday's win over the Habs.
Analysis: He's currently playing on the Ducks' third line with Emerson Etem and new acquisition Jiri Sekac. The trio were the bottom three Ducks in terms of ice time Wednesday night, so don't expect their scoring to greatly improve while their opportunities remain so limited.

Ryan Kesler
Ducks' Kesler Records Assist In Win
Ryan Kesler, C, ANA
12:34 PM
News: Ryan Kesler recorded an assist on Cam Fowler's empty-netter Wednesday night against the Habs.
Analysis: Ryan Kesler now has points in three of his last four games, so it looks like he's worked himself out of the slump that plagued him for much of February. It's probably time to start rolling him back into your lineup.

John Gibson
Gibson Leads Ducks To Win Over Habs
John Gibson, G, ANA
12:21 PM
News: John Gibson stopped 37 of 38 shots Wednesday night in a 3-1 win over Montreal.
Analysis: John Gibson's stellar play of late is a nice luxury for the Ducks. He's managed to win six of his past seven starts -- pretty successful for a backup goalie. If Gibson can continue delivering strong performances in net, expect him to see a number of starts down the stretch, as the Ducks are likely inclined to keep No. 1 goalie Frederik Andersen fresh for their playoff run.

Pavel Datsyuk
Red Wings' Datsyuk Sets Up Goal In Win
Pavel Datsyuk, C, DET
9:07 AM
News: Pavel Datsyuk was credited with an assist in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime win over the Rangers.
Analysis: Pavel Datsyuk has been on an impressive run of late with three goals and five assists over his last seven games, but in truth, he's been fantastic all season. Since missing the first couple weeks with a shoulder injury, Datsyuk has mostly been a paragon of health, while maintaining his usual elite production offensively. He's on track to finish with more than a point per game scoring average for the seventh time in his illustrious career.

Jonathan Ericsson
Red Wings' Ericsson Records Assist In Win
Jonathan Ericsson, D, DET
9:00 AM
News: Jonathan Ericsson recorded an assist in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime victory over the Rangers.
Analysis: After closing January on a four-game point streak, Ericssom predictably fell back to earth in February, failing to log a single goal or assist while attempting only eight shots over 11 games. As a stay-at-home defenseman who rarely sees power-play time, Jonathan Ericsson can't be trusted as a consistent source for points, severely limiting his ceiling as a fantasy option.

J.T. Brown
Lightning's Brown Out Thursday
J.T. Brown, RW, TB
8:53 AM
News: J.T. Brown (upper body) won't play Thursday against the Maple Leafs.
Analysis: Coach Jon Cooper relayed in advance of Thursday's contest that J.T. Brown is "banged up. Nothing long-term, serious, but he's a no go tonight." As a result, look for Vladislav Namestnikov to fill in up front for Brown on Thursday.

Mika Zibanejad
Point Streak Hits Five For Sens' Zibanejad
Mika Zibanejad, C, OTT
8:50 AM
News: Mika Zibanejad collected an assist in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Mika Zibanejad has now recorded a point in a season-best five consecutive games. He's rebounded from a rough first two months of the season to provide 13 goals and 19 assists since the beginning of December, amounting to a splendid 0.82 points per game.

Jiri Sekac
Ducks' Sekac Records Assist In Win
Jiri Sekac, LW, ANA
8:45 AM
News: Jiri Sekac set up Rickard Rakell's game-winning goal in Wednesday's 3-1 defeat of the Canadiens.
Analysis: The Czech winger seems to have taken well to his new team, recording an assist in three of his five games with the Ducks. He should be a solid source of secondary scoring while he remains on the third line, but at this stage, he's only on the radar in deeper fantasy formats.

Nathan MacKinnon
Av's MacKinnon Notches GW Goal
Nathan MacKinnon, C, COL
8:43 AM
News: Nathan MacKinnon notched the game-winning goal Wednesday in a 3-1 win over Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Nathan MacKinnon returned to his usual spot on the second line to tally his 14th goal of the season, deflecting the puck into the net off of a Jan Hejda pass in the second period. The second year forward now has five goals in five games despite a turbulent week that has included a benching, a broken nose, and a demotion to the third line. With the Av's only eight points back of a playoff spot with 18 games to go, you can expect MacKinnon to get plenty of ice time in a last-ditch effort to make the playoffs.
