Analysis: With Anthony Duclair still currently playing in the NHL for the Rangers, Adam Erne has become the clear-cut number one offensive option for Quebec. He has responded to the tune of 16 goals and 33 points in his first 19 games this season. Not bad for a guy who missed the vast majority of the offseason while recovering from wrist surgery. Erne has gone just two games this season without recording a point. Quebec is slated to host the Memorial Cup this coming spring, so Erne may not be seeing any action in the AHL this season.
News: Teemu Pulkkinen scored twice in Grand Rapids' (AHL) 5-4 loss to Lake Erie on Friday. Analysis: With his two markers on Friday, Teemu Pulkkinen now has eight goals and 16 points in his first 14 games this season. The undersized winger has a ton of offensive ability and seems capable of handling a top-six role should the Detroit brass decide to give him a look later in the season.
