News: Mike Smith will start Tuesday's game against the Panthers. Analysis: Mike Smith, who also started Monday's shootout win over the Lightning, has now won three of his last four turns. He last gave way to backup Thomas Greiss back on Feb. 28.
News: Mikael Backlund notched an assist in a 3-2 losing effort against the Kings on Monday. Analysis: Mikael Backlund went into the Olympic Break on fire, but Monday's assist was his first point in seven games since the break. It appears he's back to his inconsistent fantasy self, scoring in bursts but then going through droughts.
News: Brian McGrattan scored a goal late, but Calgary lost to Los Angeles 3-2 on Monday. Analysis: Brian McGrattan actually has goals in his last two games, and led the Flames in shots Monday. In two games, however, McGrattan has tripled his season total in goals and increased his career goals to nine. He does have 95 penalty minutes on the season, but only has five points in 59 games.
News: Sergei Bobrovsky will start Tuesday's game against the Red Wings. Analysis: Sergei Bobrovsky returns to the Blue Jackets' net Tuesday after Curtis McElhinney drew the start for Columbus on Monday against the Stars.
News: Chris Stewart (ankle) could be done for the season, The Buffalo News reports. "Stewart doesn't look good right now," interim coach Ted Nolan said. "There are only five weeks left in the year and his injury is four-to-five weeks." Analysis: Based on the timetable outlined by Nolan, it looks like Chris Stewart's season will come to a close after 60 games, over which he has scored 26 points. Stewart did not record a point in two games for the Sabres after being acquired in the deal that sent Ryan Miller to the Blues.
News: Jhonas Enroth will get the start Tuesday when the Sabres take on the Predators. Analysis: Jhonas Enroth has been playing well since Ryan Miller was traded and he got his shot as top Buffalo goalie. He's posted save percentages of .923 or greater in his last four starts, and has three of his four wins on the season since February 26. That all said, the team in front of him has been depleted by trades and injuries, though at least Enroth will face a Predators squad that's had its own struggles lately.
News: Eric Gelinas practiced with the team's extra defensive pair on Monday with Anton Volchenkov skating alongside Bryce Salvador, the Bergen Record's Tom Gulitti reports. Gelinas could be out of the lineup Tuesday against Philadelphia. Analysis: Eric Gelinas has no points in three games and saw his ice time drop from 20:34 in Friday's loss to Detroit to 10:34 in Saturday's win over Carolina. He's a plus-3 over that span, but the Devils have allowed an uncharacteristic 11 goals over their last two games. Of that 10:34 Gelinas played on Saturday, just 36 seconds were on the power play, which could mean a limited role going forward. If you have other options on Tuesday, given the heavy slate of games, consider using them.
News: Brandon Gormley, the Coyotes' first round pick in 2010, made his NHL debut Monday in place of Derek Morris in a win over Tampa Bay. He was plus-1 and registered one shot in 13:22 of ice time. News: Ryan Miller is expected to start Tuesday's game against the Stars, the St. Louis Post Dispatch reports. Analysis: Ryan Miller is in line to return to the Blues' net Tuesday after giving way to Brian Elliott in Sunday's win over the Wild. Miller has won all four of his turns with the Blues, in addition to his final start with the Sabres.
News: Derek Morris was a healthy scratch for Monday's game against Tampa Bay. He was replaced in the lineup by Brandon Gormley. Analysis: Derek Morris has not recorded a point since January 26 and has zero points and a minus-3 rating since the league resumed play following the Olympics. He is not likely to be out of the Coyotes' lineup for long, but keep an eye on his ice time to determine whether he should be in your lineup.
