Player News
Zbynek Michalek
Coyotes' Michalek Scores First Goal Of Season
Zbynek Michalek, D, ARI
12:59 PM
News: Zbynek Michalek scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's win over Anaheim.
Analysis: Zbynek Michalek now has six points in 35 games, to go with a minus-5 rating. Considering it's been five years since the 32-year-old surpassed the 20-point mark, don't expect much more offense from Michalek this season. Considering he sees almost no power-play time, Michalek doesn't provide much fantasy value outside of the deepest of leagues.

Kari Lehtonen
Stars' Lehtonen Makes 30 Saves In Win
Kari Lehtonen, G, DAL
12:28 PM
News: Kari Lehtonen made 30 saves on 33 shots in Saturday's win over the Blues.
Analysis: Kari Lehtonen is now 4-1-0 in his last six appearances, giving up 14 goals in that span. The 31-year-old is 14-8-5 on the season, with a .904 save percentage and 2.99 GAA. While he gets the call almost every night for Dallas, the Stars have allowed a whopping 113 goals-against this season, with the disastrous Oilers being the only other team to yield more. Lehtonen is a great fantasy option if you're looking for wins, but if you want solid rate stats, don't expect impressive totals from Lehtonen.

Jake Allen
Blues' Allen Gives Up Four In Loss
Jake Allen, G, STL
12:11 PM
News: Jake Allen gave up four goals on 24 shots in Saturday's loss to Dallas.
Analysis: Not the best night for Jake Allen, who has now lost three straight games, giving up a whopping 12 goals in that span. While he remains a top fantasy option with an 11-5-2 record, his .899 save percentage and 2.76 GAA is a tad alarming. While he will likely remain the starter with Brian Elliot (knee) out, expect Allen to lose a significant amount of starts once Elliot returns -- especially if the 24-year-old continues to struggle.

Nick Foligno
Jackets' Foligno Notches PP Goal
Nick Foligno, LW, CLB
6:55 AM
News: Nick Foligno tallied his ninth power-play goal of the season in Saturday's 6-2 victory over the Bruins.
Analysis: Nick Foligno has been a terror on the man advantage all season, tallying 17 of his 31 points when the Jackets have an extra skater. The recent returns from injury of Brandon Dubinsky and most recently, Scott Hartnell resulted in Foligno getting pushed down to the third line to start Saturday's game, but he still saw over 20 minutes of ice time. No matter who he lines up with, Foligno remains rosterable in any format until he notices a prolonged slump in what has been a dream season to this point.

Cam Ward
Canes' Ward Stops 36 In Loss
Cam Ward, G, CAR
6:54 AM
News: Cam Ward played well against the high-powered Lightning on Saturday -- stopping 36 of 38 shots -- but it wouldn't be enough as the Hurricanes fell 2-1.
Analysis: There wasn't much else the veteran could do in this one, as Ben Bishop shut down all but one of Carolina's 26 shot attempts. Strangely enough, Cam Ward actually suffered a 2-1 loss to these same Lightning back on Dec. 11 -- and allowed two goals or less in five of his last six appearances -- so he's definitely done his part recently in attempting to pull the Hurricanes out of the basement of the Metropolitan Division. He now owns a 9-13-2 record with a 2.42 GAA and .913 save percentage this season, and probably deserves to start when Carolina takes the ice next Monday against the Canadiens.

Brandon Dubinsky
Blue Jackets' Dubinsky Assists Twice
Brandon Dubinsky, C, CLB
6:49 AM
News: Brandon Dubinsky captured two assists and finished with a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 6-2 victory over the Bruins. In addition, the center won 14 of his 27 faceoffs.
Analysis: It was the first multi-point game of the season for Brandon Dubinsky, who didn't make his debut until earlier this month following October abdominal surgery. Dubinsky's steady two-way skill set locks him as the Jackets' No. 2 center, but with 54 points representing his best scoring output for a full season, he's more of an asset in specialty formats that count PIM, hits and faceoff wins.

Ben Bishop
Bolts' Bishop Picks Up Win In Return
Ben Bishop, G, TB
6:47 AM
News: Ben Bishop handled the Hurricanes easily Saturday, stopping 25 of 26 shots in a 2-1 win.
Analysis: The lowly 'Canes were the perfect team to get Ben Bishop back into the swing of things after sitting out the last four games with a groin ailment. The big man's 17 wins have him sitting seventh overall in the league while his .915 save percentage and 2.30 GAA are hovering right around his career marks of .919 and 2.38. As long as he remains healthy, last year's Vezina Trophy finalist makes for one of the best fantasy options between the pipes on a high-scoring, elite Lightning squad.

Matt Calvert
Jackets' Calvert Nabs Two Points Saturday
Matt Calvert, LW, CLB
6:44 AM
News: Matt Calvert contributed a goal, assist and five hits in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Bruins.
Analysis: Matt Calvert was honored as the game's third star after capping a four-goal second period for the Jackets with an unassisted tally in the final minute. He's notched four points over his last four games, but that might be the extent of the hot streak for the 25-year-old, who hasn't proven to be a high-volume scorer over parts of five NHL seasons.

Patrice Bergeron
Hot Streak Roars On For Bruins' Bergeron
Patrice Bergeron, C, BOS
6:38 AM
News: Patrice Bergeron found the net on one of his five shot attempts in Saturday's 6-2 defeat to the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: The Bruins might have taken it on the chin Saturday night, but Patrice Bergeron at least managed to continue his impressive run of offensive production. He's collected five points over his last three games, firing off 13 shots during that span.

Kevin Connauton
Jackets' Connauton Lights Lamp, Dishes Out Two
Kevin Connauton, D, CLB
6:32 AM
News: Kevin Connauton delivered his finest outing as a Blue Jacket on Saturday, assisting twice and netting the game-winning goal in a 6-2 triumph over the Bruins.
Analysis: After setting up Scott Hartnell for the Jackets' first two scores, Kevin Connauton nabbed the team's third goal on a shot from distance that goalie Niklas Svedberg failed to track. Acquired by Columbus off waivers on Nov. 18, Connauton seems to have found a home on a regular pairing with James Wisniewski. He's averaging 16:17 TOI and has four goals and seven points over 14 games with his new team.
