News: Zbynek Michalek scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's win over Anaheim. Analysis: Zbynek Michalek now has six points in 35 games, to go with a minus-5 rating. Considering it's been five years since the 32-year-old surpassed the 20-point mark, don't expect much more offense from Michalek this season. Considering he sees almost no power-play time, Michalek doesn't provide much fantasy value outside of the deepest of leagues.
News: Kari Lehtonen made 30 saves on 33 shots in Saturday's win over the Blues. Analysis: Kari Lehtonen is now 4-1-0 in his last six appearances, giving up 14 goals in that span. The 31-year-old is 14-8-5 on the season, with a .904 save percentage and 2.99 GAA. While he gets the call almost every night for Dallas, the Stars have allowed a whopping 113 goals-against this season, with the disastrous Oilers being the only other team to yield more. Lehtonen is a great fantasy option if you're looking for wins, but if you want solid rate stats, don't expect impressive totals from Lehtonen.
News: Jake Allen gave up four goals on 24 shots in Saturday's loss to Dallas. Analysis: Not the best night for Jake Allen, who has now lost three straight games, giving up a whopping 12 goals in that span. While he remains a top fantasy option with an 11-5-2 record, his .899 save percentage and 2.76 GAA is a tad alarming. While he will likely remain the starter with Brian Elliot (knee) out, expect Allen to lose a significant amount of starts once Elliot returns -- especially if the 24-year-old continues to struggle.
News: Josh Bailey picked up two assists in Saturday's shootout defeat to the Sabres. Analysis: Josh Bailey saw only 13:14 of action Saturday, but with most of it coming on the top line with Kyle Okposo and John Tavares, he was able to make good use of it. The Islanders have tried out a number of players at the left wing spot on the top line this season, but coach Jack Capuano has yet to permanently settle on a player. Bailey's performance Saturday would seemingly aid his chances at getting a longer look in the role.
News: Evander Kane grabbed two assists while firing five shots on goal and skated to a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-3 OT win over the Wild. Analysis: Both of Evander Kane's helpers came in the third period and gave the Jets a temporary lead each time, with the second apple on Blake Wheeler's shorthanded goal being particularly impressive. Despite having underwhelmingly recorded just six goals and 15 points this season, Kane has quietly racked up five points over his last six games and has generally maintained his value by way of PIM (46) when he hasn't been scoring.
News: Tuukka Rask came on in relief of starter Niklas Svedberg during the second period of Saturday's loss to the Blue Jackets, surrendering three goals on 15 shots faced. Analysis: After Kevin Connauton's second-period goal gave the Jackets a 3-1 lead, coach Claude Julien called upon Tuukka Rask from the bench with the hope that he might be able to salvage the game for the Bruins. Instead, he let Nick Foligno beat him for a power-play goal less than three minutes after his entry into the game, effectively ending any chances of a Bruins comeback. While Rask wasn't the recipient of a loss Saturday, the continued ratio damage doesn't inspire much confidence that he's close to returning to last season's form.
News: Brendan Woods was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Sunday. Analysis: Brendan Woods was called up due to an upper-body injury for Alexander Semin, which held Semin out of Saturday's contest and drew Woods in. He will head back to the AHL for now, likely indicating one of the four injured forwards will return Monday.
News: Andrew Ladd scored the game-winning goal in overtime -- his 12th of the season -- and added an assist in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Wild. Analysis: Andrew Ladd was the benefactor of a very fortuitous bounce in the extra frame, as his shot went way over Wild goalie John Curry, ricocheted off the glass, then caromed off the top of the net before bouncing off the back of Curry and in. The Jets' captain has been as advertised this season, leading the charge to the tune of 12 goals, 27 points, 34 PIM, 105 SOG and a plus-4 rating, making him a productive and highly dependable fantasy lineup cog thus far in 2014-15.
News: Jeremy Morin scored his first goal as a member of the Blue Jackets in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Bruins. Analysis: Jeremy Morin was the final scorer of the night for the Jackets, finishing with a plus-2 rating in a season-high 16:18 of ice time. It's not surprising that he's enjoyed a larger role with Columbus than he did with Chicago prior to being traded earlier this month, but his placement on the top line to start Saturday's contest was more eyebrow-raising. It's too early to determine yet if he'll end up sticking next to Ryan Johansen for the long haul, but those in deeper formats may want to keep an eye on him in the meantime.
News: Brian Dumoulin was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Sunday, Pens' beat writer Shelly Anderson reports. Analysis: Brian Dumoulin had seen a fair share of ice time since being recalled, but the Pens have decided to send him back to the AHL, which could signify the anticipated return of another blueliner Monday. In seven games with the Pens, he averaged 15:04 of ice time and recorded a goal.
