Player News
Brett Bellemore
Canes' Bellemore Pots First Goal Of Season
Brett Bellemore, D, CAR
12:00 PM
News: Brett Bellemore scored his first goal of the season and collected five PIM in Friday's win over Washington.
Analysis: Brett Bellemore now has six points and a plus-3 rating in 33 games on the season. Considering the defenseman averages just 15:32 of ice time and has only recorded 16 shots on goal, Bellmore is only valuable in the deepest of fantasy leagues.

Tye McGinn
Sharks Activate McGinn
Tye McGinn, LW, SJ
11:17 AM
News: Tye McGinn (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.
Analysis: Tye McGinn missed about a month with the injury, which he suffered during the Sharks' Jan. 31 win over the Blackhawks. His activation will make him a lineup option for Saturday's tilt with the Senators, but it's not clear if coach Todd McLellan plans on using him. Even when he had been healthier earlier in the season, McGinn often jostled between a bottom-six forward role and hitting the press box as a healthy scratch.

Tim Erixon
Hawks' Erixon Placed On Waivers
Tim Erixon, D, CHI
11:16 AM
News: The Blackhawks placed Tim Erixon on waivers on Saturday, ESPN Chicago reports.
Analysis: Tim Erixon had mainly been out of the way Blackhawks' lineup after being acquired in December from the Blue Jackets for Jeremy Morin. Erixon has zero points, is a plus-1 and has averaged 9:59 of ice time in eight games for the Blackhawks this season. He played in the Blackhawks' last two games after being a healthy scratch for 16 consecutive games. The move of Erixon comes after Chicago defenseman Kimmo Timonen from the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday. If he clears waivers, Erixon will be sent down to AHL's Rockford.

Chris Tierney
Sharks Reassign Tierney
Chris Tierney, C, SJ
11:15 AM
News: Chris Tierney was reassigned to AHL Worcester on Saturday, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.
Analysis: Chris Tierney stuck with the Sharks for a little under a month during this latest call-up period, contributing a goal and four assists over 10 games. He'll head back to the minors to open up a roster spot for Tye McGinn (upper body) was activated from IR in a corresponding move.

Antti Niemi
Sharks Going With Niemi On Saturday
Antti Niemi, G, SJ
11:12 AM
News: Antti Niemi will be in the crease for Saturday's game against the Senators, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.
Analysis: Antti Niemi has experienced a rather rough February, going 3-5-2 with a 2.99 GAA and .910 save percentage over 10 outings. He's been able to sidestep repeated blowups that might otherwise compromise his hold on the No. 1 goalie job, but his production has nonetheless left a lot to be desired. With Ottawa entering Saturday's game with confidence after scoring back-to-back road shutouts over the Ducks and Kings, Niemi doesn't make for an overly appealing fantasy option in daily formats Saturday.

Garrett Wilson
Panthers Return Wilson To Minors
Garrett Wilson, LW, FLA
11:07 AM
News: Garrett Wilson was reassigned to AHL San Antonio on Saturday, Jameson Olive of FOX Sports Florida reports.
Analysis: Garrett Wilson was scheduled to be a healthy scratch for Saturday's game against the Sabres, so the Panthers decided it was in his best interest to head back to San Antonio for the weekend. He appeared in two games during his stint with the Panthers, going minus-2 while putting five shots on goal.

Brandon Pirri
Panthers' Pirri Activated From IR
Brandon Pirri, C, FLA
10:58 AM
News: Brandon Pirri (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Saturday.
Analysis: Brandon Pirri resumed practicing Thursday and is now fully recovered from the injury that kept him out for about two and a half weeks. The forward had been sizzling with six goals and an assist in his last nine games before suffering the injury, but it could take him a little bit of time to rediscover his scoring touch upon his return. He's expected to slot in on the Panthers' third line Saturday.

Dany Heatley
Ducks Deal Heatley To Panthers
Dany Heatley, LW, ANA
10:50 AM
News: The Panthers acquired Dany Heatley and a 2015 first-round draft pick from the Ducks on Saturday in exchange for forward Tomas Fleischmann, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Signed to a one-year deal by the Ducks in the offseason, Dany Heatley suffered a groin injury late in training camp that proved to be a persistent issue through the end of December, limiting him to just six games with the big club before he was waived in December. Heatley has been skating with AHL Norfolk ever since, producing only two goals and seven points in 25 games. It's clear that Heatley is running on fumes at this point in his career, so don't expect his new organization to have much interest in bringing him aboard as a wing option for the parent club. Instead, the trade was made by the Panthers mostly for the purpose of acquiring the draft pick, which will help the team offset the pair of picks they surrendered in a trade with the Devils earlier this week for Jaromir Jagr.

Tomas Fleischmann
Ducks Acquire Fleischmann From Panthers
Tomas Fleischmann, LW, FLA
10:44 AM
News: Tomas Fleischmann was acquired by the Ducks on Saturday in exchange for forward Dany Heatley and a 2015 third-round draft pick, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: The Ducks were still in need of some extra depth on the wing with Matt Beleskey (shoulder) still a week to 10 days away from a return to action, and Tomas Fleischmann should help feel that need, while also giving the roster more options down the stretch. Fleischmann had been juggled up and down the Panthers' lineup all season, generating seven goals, 14 assists, and a plus-12 rating over 52 games. Unless he latches on to a top-line role next to Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, Fleischmann's fantasy value isn't likely to notice a substantial rise or fall with the move to Anaheim.

Ben Scrivens
Oilers' Scrivens Gets The Saturday Nod
Ben Scrivens, G, EDM
10:38 AM
News: Ben Scrivens will be in the cage for Saturday's game against the Blues, Jack Michaels of the Oilers Radio Network reports.
Analysis: Ben Scrivens is firmly entrenched as the Oilers' No. 1 goalie while Viktor Fasth (knee) remains out indefinitely, but he's still very clearly a low-end goalie option, despite wins in four his last seven starts. Playing behind an improving, but still substandard Oilers defense, Scrivens' ratios are susceptible to take big hits on a given night, particularly against top-flight offenses like the Blues'.
