Player News
Jakob Silfverberg
Silfverberg Leads Ducks To Win Over Coyotes
Jakob Silfverberg, RW, ANA
12:08 PM
News: Jakob Silfverberg collected a goal, two assists and a plus-3 rating in Tuesday's win over the Coyotes.
Analysis: The points give him 30 on the year (10 goals, 20 assists), already well above his previous best of 23 from last season. The Ducks' forward corps is a fairly crowded bunch at the moment, so the 24-year-old will probably continue to have a hard time consistently hitting the scoresheet. However, he has fired 144 shots on goal this season, making him an intriguing option in leagues that count the stat.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic
Sharks' Vlasic Finds Twine In Win
Marc-Edouard Vlasic, D, SJ
11:38 AM
News: Marc-Edouard Vlasic tallied his eighth goal of the season in Tuesday's win over the Canucks.
Analysis: The eight goals match Marc-Edouard Vlasic's output from the last two seasons combined. He's benefited greatly from a 10.3 shooting rate that is nearly six points higher than his career percentage, so it wouldn't be surprising if Vlasic ends up falling short of the double-digit goals despite 17 games remaining on the Sharks' schedule.

Roberto Luongo
Panthers' Luongo Getting Checked Out
Roberto Luongo, G, FLA
11:37 AM
News: Roberto Luongo is slated to undergo a CT scan on his shoulder/collarbone area, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports
Analysis: More on Roberto Luongo's status as we know it, but with fellow goalie Al Montoya likely to miss a decent chunk of time, the Panthers have recalled Dan Ellis and Sam Brittain.

Melker Karlsson
Sharks' Karlsson Finds Net In Win
Melker Karlsson, RW, SJ
11:35 AM
News: Melker Karlsson recorded his 10th goal of the season in Tuesday's victory over the Canucks.
Analysis: Melker Karlsson got off to a blazing start to his NHL career upon being recalled from AHL Worcester in December, ratting off six goals and four assists over his first 14 games. His production has since slowed considerably, but he's still been able to maintain an appointment on the Sharks' top line with Joe Thornton and Joe Pavelski. That type of deployment gives Karlsson an added level of intrigue, but he may need to start producing offense with more frequency to keep his spot.

Al Montoya
Panthers' Montoya Sidelined
Al Montoya, G, FLA
11:27 AM
News: TSN's Bob McKenzie indicates that Al Montoya (groin) is likely out for "weeks," tsn.ca reports.
Analysis: With both Al Montoya and fellow goalie Roberto Luongo hurting, the Panthers' top healthy options in net currently are Dan Ellis and Sam Brittain, who were both recalled by the team on Wednesday.

Eddie Lack
Canucks' Lack Cleans Up In Relief
Eddie Lack, G, VAN
11:22 AM
News: Eddie Lack was excellent in relief of Jacob Markstrom in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Blues, stopping 23 of 24 shots.
Analysis: It was quite the disastrous outing for Markstrom, who saved only one of the four shots he faced before being pulled in the game's first eight minutes. Eddie Lack was stellar in making sure the deficit didn't grow any larger, but his offense failed to provide enough support to lead him to the comeback victory. In any event, Markstrom's horrid showing in the face of Lack's brilliance further ensures the latter will have a strong grasp on the Canucks' goaltending job until Ryan Miller (leg) returns near the end of the regular season.

Nick Shore
Kings' Shore Registers Assist In Win
Nick Shore, C, LA
11:18 AM
News: Nick Shore registered an assist and three shots on goal in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Oilers.
Analysis: The 22-year-old is still searching for his first NHL goal through 17 games, but probably won't get many opportunities to achieve that feat as a member of the Kings' fourth line. He's averaging only 9:54 of ice time per game and probably isn't in line to gain any additional duties in the near future.

Matt Greene
Kings' Greene Bags Goal In Win
Matt Greene, D, LA
11:13 AM
News: Matt Greene tallied one of five Kings goals in Tuesday's win over the Oilers.
Analysis: The 31-year-old Matt Greene has three goals on the season, which qualifies as the second-highest total of his career. Needless to say, there's not much fantasy value to be found in that production, even after considering Greene's positive contributions in the PIM and hits categories.

Chris Stewart
Stewart Posts An Assist In Wild Debut
Chris Stewart, RW, MIN
11:04 AM
News: Chris Stewart had an assist and was on the ice for 15:06 in his Wild debut in Tuesday's win over Ottawa.
Analysis: It looks like Chris Stewart will be on one of the Wild's top three lines with Miko Koivu, but the third skater on the line changed during the game and may again for the Wild's next matchup. Stewart got just over two minutes of power play ice time, so he'll have a significant role with his new team.

Jordan Leopold
Leopold Gets 17 Minutes In Minnesota Debut
Jordan Leopold, D, MIN
10:58 AM
News: Jordan Leopold had two shots on goals and four blocks in 17:19 of ice time in Tuesday's win over Ottawa.
Analysis: Jordan Leopold was a minus-1 and spent much of his time on the ice in a defensive pairing with Christian Folin. Leopold didn't get any power play time in his first game with the Wild, however.
