Player News
Dan Hamhuis
Two Helpers For Vancouver's Hamhuis
Dan Hamhuis, D, VAN
12:03 PM
News: Dan Hamhuis collected two assists and went plus-3 in Tuesday's shootout win against Nashville.
Analysis: Dan Hamhuis has now played 55 games this season, and he still has no goals, with his 21 assists not going an especially long way toward making up for that. At least the fine evening pushed his season rating back to the positive end of things (plus-2).

Alex Burrows
Canucks' Burrows Stuffs Stat Sheet In Win
Alex Burrows, LW, VAN
12:01 PM
News: Alex Burrows racked up a shorthanded goal, a power-play assist and 15 PIM in Tuesday's shootout win over Nashville.
Analysis: The veteran's five-minute major for interference (and game misconduct) at the end of the third period set the Predators up with a great chance to win it, but fortunately for Alex Burrows, Nashville whiffed on the extended man-advantage opportunity. The gritty winger certainly isn't the offensive force he once was, but he's got a decent skill-and-grit combo, with 31 points and 64 PIM in 65 games. He's also scored goals in consecutive games.

Richard Bachman
Oilers' Bachman Unavailable Due To Personal Matter
Richard Bachman, G, EDM
10:57 AM
News: Richard Bachman (personal) has left the Oilers and will be unavailable for Wednesday's game against the Ducks, Joanne Ireland of the Edmonton Journal reports.
Analysis: After leading the Oilers to stunning victories his last two times out while stopping 58 of 59 shots, he appeared in line to garner a third straight start Wednesday before personal tragedy set in. He's set to attend to a death in the family through at least Wednesday, but there's a decent chance he could still be unavailable for Thursday's contest against the Kings. Ben Scrivens will man the crease for however long Richard Bachman remains away from the team.

Jake Allen
Blues Turn To Allen On Thursday
Jake Allen, G, STL
10:54 AM
News: Jake Allen is slated to start Thursday's game against the Flames, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports.
Analysis: Jake Allen will get the team's starting nod Thursday, with Brian Elliott having dropped his last four decisions. Allen was victorious in his last turn for the Blues, stopping 24 of 26 shots in a 3-2 overtime win over the Penguins on March 24.

Ben Scrivens
Oilers' Scrivens To Start Wednesday
Ben Scrivens, G, EDM
10:49 AM
News: Ben Scrivens will be between the pipes for Wednesday's game against the Ducks, Mark Spector of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Analysis: Coach Todd Nelson likely would have preferred to ride a suddenly hot Richard Bachman in goal for Wednesday's game, but with the netminder leaving the team due to a death in the family, Ben Scrivens will pick up his first start since March 25. The Oilers have been playing their best hockey of the season of late with victories in six of their past eight games, but Scrivens' overall body of work shouldn't inspire a ton of confidence for the winning ways to continue much longer. The Ducks have been victorious in both of the two teams' previous three meetings this season, with Scrivens on the losing end of a 2-1 decision back on Feb. 21.

Marc-Andre Fleury
Penguins Go With Fleury On Wednesday
Marc-Andre Fleury, G, PIT
10:45 AM
News: Marc-Andre Fleury is slated to start Wednesday's home game against the Flyers, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Marc-Andre Fleury, who sports 33-17-8 mark, with a 2.26 GAA and .921 save percentage to date, will take aim Wednesday at a Flyers squad that is looking to snap a nine-game losing streak (0-5-4) on the road.

Patrick Kane
Blackhawks' Kane Says Timetable Hasn't Changed
Patrick Kane, RW, CHI
10:39 AM
News: Though he was able to get in a non-contact practice Wednesday, Patrick Kane said that his 12-week recovery timetable hasn't changed, Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis: Coach Joel Quenneville also reiterated as much, but Patrick Kane still seems optimistic about beating that timetable after he was able to resume practicing far earlier than most anticipated. Since Kane was placed on long-term injured reserve back in February and has a $10.5 million annual salary, it seems unlikely that the cap-strapped Blackhawks would even have the capacity to activate the winger before the end of the regular season, even if he was deemed fully healthy at that point. Instead, the Blackhawks will simply hope to have Kane back at some point in the playoffs, though it remains up in the air how early his return might come, if at all.

Steve Mason
Flyers Turn To Mason On Wednesday
Steve Mason, G, PHI
10:38 AM
News: Steve Mason is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Penguins, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: While Steve Mason's 15-17-11 mark isn't stellar, he heads into Wednesday's action with a .927 save percentage, which gives him a chance to finish the season with the highest save percentage in franchise history, at least since the league officially started keeping the stat in 1982. Roman Cechmanek, who turned in a .925 save percentage in 2002-2003, currently holds the team mark on that front.

Bryan Little
Jets' Little Returns
Bryan Little, C, WPG
10:22 AM
News: Bryan Little, who had missed 11 games with an upper-body injury, returned to action Tuesday against the Rangers, recording worth 19:41 of ice time.
Analysis: Though Bryan Little -- who recorded three shots Tuesday -- did not notch a point in his return to action, he's in line to man the middle on the Jets' top line moving forward, which restores his fantasy utility in both daily and standard formats.

Alexander Steen
Blues' Steen Looking Doubtful For Thursday
Alexander Steen, LW, STL
10:14 AM
News: Alexander Steen (lower body) appears doubtful to play Thursday against the Flames, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports.
Analysis: Though coach Ken Hitchcock reiterated Wednesday that Alexander Steen was day-to-day, the forward's absence from practice suggests that he's in danger of missing a second straight game. With Vladimir Tarasenko also expected to sit out Thursday, Patrik Berglund and Dmitrij Jaskin are in line to fill top-six roles for the Blues.
