Steve Mason
Mason To Join Flyers In New York
Steve Mason, G, PHI
9:18 AM
News: Steve Mason (upper body) will travel with the Flyers in New York on Friday, Mark Masters of TSN reports.
Analysis: Steve Mason has already been ruled out for Game 1, but the news that he's traveling could make him a consideration for Game 2. Coach Craig Berube said Mason won't practice Friday, but it's evident that his condition is improving.

Ben Bishop
Bolts' Bishop Gets In Light Practice
Ben Bishop, G, TB
7:52 AM
News: Ben Bishop (elbow) was on the ice in full gear for 35 minutes Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: After watching backup Anders Lindback struggle in his place during Wednesday's playoff opener against the Canadiens, Ben Bishop attempted to ramp up his activity but still appeared to be hurting. He wasn't able to face shots at Thursday's session, and at this point, looks doubtful at best to heal up in time for Game 2 on Friday.

John Mitchell
Avs' Mitchell Out With Head Injury For Game 1
John Mitchell, C, COL
7:47 AM
News: John Mitchell (head) will not play in Game 1 of the Avs' first-round series against the Wild, Adrian Dater of the Denver Post reports.
Analysis: John Mitchell had reportedly shown signs of improvement in recent days after sustaining a possible concussion last Friday, but he'll be bound for the press box in the Avs' playoff opener. There's still hope he can return to the lineup at some point during the series.

Colton Sceviour
Stars' Sceviour Opens Playoffs With Two Points
Colton Sceviour, C, DAL

News: Colton Sceviour had a goal and an assist in Wednesday's Game 1 loss to the Ducks.
Analysis: Colton Sceviour played an integral role in the Stars' near-comeback, as he scored the second of three unanswered goals to turn a 4-0 Ducks lead into a 4-3 advantage. Though Dallas ultimately fell short, it was a very impressive postseason debut for Sceviour.

Jamie Benn
Stars' Benn Notches First Career Playoff Goal
Jamie Benn, LW, DAL
5:51 AM
News: Jamie Benn tallied his first career playoff goal top open Dallas' scoring in an eventual 4-3 loss to Anaheim in Game 1.
Analysis: Jamie Benn was Dallas' best player in the game and carried over his torrid pace from the conclusion of the regular season.

Kari Lehtonen
Stars' Lehtonen Struggles Early Against Ducks
Kari Lehtonen, G, DAL
5:47 AM
News: Kari Lehtonen allowed three first period goals in Dallas' 4-3 loss to Anaheim in Game 1 of the first-round series Wednesday.
Analysis: Kari Lehtonen put his team in a 4-0 hole 30 minutes into the game, but played better as the game went along and nearly benefited as Dallas rallied late. He'll be in net for Game 2 on Friday.

Brandon Prust, RW, MON
4:04 AM
News: Brandon Prust (upper body) played 20:24 in Wednesday night's win over Tampa Bay in Game 1 of their opening-round playoff series. He had not played since March 18.
Analysis: Brandon Prust looked a little rusty but he'll get better as the series moves along. He skated on a line with Tomas Plekanec and Brendan Gallagher.

Daniel Briere
Habs' Briere Assists On Game Winner
Daniel Briere, C, MON
4:01 AM
News: Daniel Briere and four shots on goal and assisted on Dale Weise's game-winning goal in overtime of Wednesday night's win over over Tampa Bay in the first game of their opening-round playoff series.
Analysis: The Canadiens' fourth line was humming in overtime with Daniel Briere missing on a few scoring chances before his work behind the night helped Weise convert with just under two minutes remaining in OT. It's playoff time and Briere is Montreal's most seasoned player in terms of postseason experience. His assist gives him 110 points in 109 playoff games.

Dale Weise
Habs' Weise Tallies Game Winner In OT
Dale Weise, RW, MON
3:52 AM
News: Dale Weise scored the game-winning goal in overtime in Wednesday night's win over Tampa Bay in the first game of their opening-round playoff series.
Analysis: The Canadiens carried play in the overtime period and it was only a matter of time before they converted one of their scoring chances. In this case, the hard work of the fourth line, particularly Daniel Briere's forecheck behind the Lightning goal was the catalyst for the game-winner.

12:45 AM
News: Jake Dowell has been assigned to AHL Iowa.
Analysis: Jake Dowell, who will return to Iowa with 17 points in 54 AHL games to date, remains a candidate for recall if the Wild require added depth up front as the playoffs progress.
