Erik Johnson
Avs' Johnson Nears Return
Erik Johnson, D, COL
8:50 AM
News: Though Erik Johnson (knee) hasn't been ruled out for Monday's game against the Oilers, Terry Frei of the Denver Post suggests that the blueliner is more likely to return to the lineup at some point during the Avs' upcoming three-game road trip, which starts Wednesday at San Jose.
Analysis: Erik Johnson, who had arthroscopic knee surgery on Jan. 26, last suited up on Jan. 21. Prior to sustaining his knee injury, Johnson had recorded 23 points and 33 PIM in 47 games for the Avs.

Avs Go With Varlamov On Monday
Semyon Varlamov, G, COL

News: Semyon Varlamov is slated to start Monday's game against the Oilers, Terry Frei of the Denver Post reports.
Analysis: Semyon Varlamov, who stopped 35 of 38 shots in Saturday's win over the Sabres, will look to rebound Monday from last Wednesday's rough outing against the Oilers, in which he was pulled after giving up three goals on seven shots. Beyond Monday, coach Patrick Roy indicated that the Avs plan to turn to Reto Berra on Wednesday at San Jose.

William Karlsson
Jackets Reassign Karlsson
William Karlsson, C, CLB

News: William Karlsson was reassigned to AHL Springfield on Monday.
Analysis: William Karlsson registered a goal and an assist along with a plus-2 rating in three games after joining the being recalled Mar. 23. He will head back to the minors, likely indicating one of the injured forwards could be available Tuesday against the Devils.

Ben Bishop
Lightning Turn To Bishop On Monday
Ben Bishop, G, TB
8:27 AM
News: Ben Bishop is slated to start Monday's game against Montreal, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: Ben Bishop will look to bounce back Monday on the heels of back-to-back losses in which he has allowed six goals in 86:08 worth of ice time. Meanwhile, the Habs -- who lead the Eastern Conference with 102 points -- snapped a two-game slide with Saturday's 3-2 overtime win over the Panthers.

Matt Calvert
Jackets' Calvert (Concussion) Skates Monday
Matt Calvert, LW, CLB
8:20 AM
News: Matt Calvert (concussion) returned to the ice Monday for the first time in a while, Aaron Portzline of The Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Matt Calvert will need to get in a few more practices and get cleared to return before rejoining the lineup, but he took another positive step forward Monday. If the progress continues, there's reason to believe he'll make it back before the end of the season.

T.J. Brennan
Leafs Recall Brennan
T.J. Brennan, D, TOR
8:11 AM
News: T.J. Brennan was recalled from AHL Toronto on an emergency basis Monday.
Analysis: T.J. Brennan will likely slot into the lineup Tuesday to provide the team with a sixth defenseman. With only six currently on the roster, it's possible the club will decide to hold onto him, but for now it's on an emergency basis that would require him to be returned once the emergency situation is done.

Chris Summers
Rangers' Summers
Chris Summers, D, NYR
7:59 AM
News: Chris Summers was reassigned to AHL Hartford on Monday.
Analysis: Chris Summers was recalled an inserted in the lineup Sunday after Matt Hunwick (upper body) was ruled out. He will be returned to the AHL Monday, per emergency recall procedures, as Hunwick may be ready to return.

Jonathan Marchessault
Lightning Recall Marchessault
Jonathan Marchessault, C, TB
7:51 AM
News: Jonathan Marchessault was recalled from AHL Syracuse on Monday, Erik Erlendsson of The Tampa Tribune reports.
Analysis: Jonathan Marchessault will give the Lightning some depth among the front lines with Cedric Paquette currently day-to-day with an injury. If Paquette can't go, Marchessault could find himself in the Lightning's lineup for just the second time this season.

Luke Witkowski
Bolts Recall Witkowski
Luke Witkowski, D, TB
7:43 AM
News: Luke Witkowski was recalled from AHL Syracuse on Monday, Erik Erlendsson of The Tampa Tribune reports.
Analysis: Luke Witkowski will provide the Lightning with added depth along the blue line with Jason Garrison considered day-to-day. Over 10 games with the club this season, he's recorded four shots on goal, seven penalty minutes, 14 hits and 12 blocked shots in 14:44 of average ice time.

Brian Campbell
Panthers' Campbell Tallies Assist In Win Sunday
Brian Campbell, D, FLA
7:34 AM
News: Brian Campbell was awarded an assist on the power play in Sunday's 4-2 victory over the Senators.
Analysis: Brian Campbell now has two points and a plus-3 rating in his last three games and has logged heavy ice time to go with it. His 25 points (three goals, 22 assists) is second among defensemen on the team and leads the team in average time on ice at more than 23 minutes per game. While he won't pick up too many goals or penalty minutes, Campbell is an interesting play for fantasy owners who need to boost their ice time and need help in the assist category.
