Player News
Alexander Wennberg
Jackets' Wennberg Gets Second
Alexander Wennberg, C, CLB
9:32 AM
News: Alexander Wennberg scored his second goal of the season in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Panthers.
Analysis: Alexander Wennberg showed great patience in waiting for a shot to bounce off the crossbar before he tapped the puck off his stick and into the net. Unfortunately, he hasn't found himself near the crease very often this season, nor has he thrived as a setup man, providing only four assists in 37 games. The 20-year-old is probably better served in the minors, but the Jackets' rash of injuries at forward has made him a lineup mainstay for most of the season.

Dmitry Kulikov
Panthers' Kulikov Assists On Game-Winner
Dmitry Kulikov, D, FLA
9:28 AM
News: Dmitry Kulikov assisted on Sean Bergenheim's game-winning power-play goal Thursday against the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: Bergenheim deflected Dmitry Kulikov's shot with 6:52 remaining off the ice and into the net for the deciding tally. The 2009 first-rounder has yet to deliver the offense the Panthers were counting on when they drafted him 14th overall, but he should still be able to maintain some relevance in deeper formats.

Brian Campbell
Panthers' Campbell Beginning To Heat Up
Brian Campbell, D, FLA
9:25 AM
News: Brian Campbell recorded an assist in his 24:07 of ice time Thursday against the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: Brian Campbell has taken a backseat as a puck-mover this season to defensive partner Aaron Ekblad, but he's starting to show some signs of offensive life in January. Over his last eight games, Campbell has supplied two goals, three assists and 14 shot attempts.

Brad Boyes
Panthers' Boyes Nabs Assist In Win
Brad Boyes, RW, FLA
9:23 AM
News: Brad Boyes picked up an assist in Thursday's win over the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: The 32-year-old hasn't scored frequently enough this season to make him an asset in anything more than deeper formats, but January has been his best month to date. He's notched four goals and three assists over 11 games.

Sean Bergenheim
Panthers' Bergenheim Gets Game-Winner, 14 PIM
Sean Bergenheim, LW, FLA
9:21 AM
News: Sean Bergenheim nabbed the game-winning power-play goal and accumulated 14 PIM in Thursday's triumph over the Blue Jackets.
Analysis: A trio of penalties limited his ice time to just 10:09, but he was still able to contribute plenty to fantasy owners in his 14 shifts. The winger had been held off the score sheet for the previous four games before finding the net for his eighth goal of the season.

Sean Couturier
Flyers' Couturier Gets Empty-Netter
Sean Couturier, C, PHI
9:17 AM
News: Sean Couturier deposited a goal in an empty net Thursday to give the Flyers a 5-2 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Despite the open net, Sean Couturier still had to wiggle his way around defenders and shoot beyond center ice for his 11th goal of the season. He now has 23 points in 50 games, but the "wow factor" is still missing from the Couturier conversation.

Mike Cammalleri
Devils' Cammalleri Set To Play Friday
Mike Cammalleri, LW, NJ
9:14 AM
News: Mike Cammalleri (general soreness) was on the ice for morning skate and is thus on track to play Friday against the Penguins, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Mike Cammalleri was held out of Thursday's practice as a precaution after feeling a little sore. The Devils never believed he was at risk of missing Friday's game, and his return to the ice in the morning seemingly verifies as much.

Michael Del Zotto
Flyers' Del Zotto: Point Streak Hits Five
Michael Del Zotto, D, PHI
9:11 AM
News: Michael Del Zotto extended his point streak to five games with an assist in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Jets.
Analysis: For seemingly the first time in three seasons, Michael Del Zotto is again flashing the puck-moving abilities that made him an intriguing dynasty-league commodity during his early years with the Rangers. Del Zotto's overall numbers look much more modest (15 points, minus-7 over 37 games), but since he's still relatively young (24 years old) and we've seen him score at high rates in the past, it's not a bad idea to go out and grab him with the hope that the recent uptick in production continues.

Mark Scheifele
Jets' Scheifele Records Assist, Four Hits In Loss
Mark Scheifele, C, WPG
9:05 AM
News: Mark Scheifele recorded four hits and a power-play assist in Thursday's loss to the Flyers.
Analysis: Dating back to before the All-Star break, Mark Scheifele has notched an assist in three of his last four games. With seven goals and 27 points in 50 games, the 21-year-old is faring well for a player with less than two full seasons under his belt, but he's probably only on the radar in mid-sized or deeper leagues at this time.

Pavel Datsyuk
Detroit's Datsyuk Picks Up Assist
Pavel Datsyuk, C, DET
9:04 AM
News: Pavel Datsyuk assisted on the lone Detroit goal Thursday in a 5-1 loss to the Lightning.
Analysis: Pavel Datsyuk just keeps on producing, as he 35 points in 37 games. Even at 36, he doesn't show much sign of slowing down, as his production is right on par with what it's been the last five years.
