News: Clayton Stoner scored the game winner in the third period of Sunday night's clash in Dallas. Analysis: Not normally known for his goal-scoring prowess, the defenseman was able to score his first goal in nearly a full calendar year. Seeing as how his career total is now at five goals and 33 assists, don't expect the 30-year old to suddenly become fantasy viable.
News: Corey Perry tallied a goal and an assist in Sunday's win over the Stars. Analysis: The points give Corey Perry 45 points on the season. Despite missing 15 of his team's 64 games this season, Perry is only second to linemate Ryan Getzlaf in team scoring.
News: Ryan Getzlaf tied Paul Kariya for second on the Ducks' all-time scoring list with a goal and an assist Sunday in Dallas. Analysis: This gives Ryan Getzlaf 669 points in 693 career games for the Ducks. He now has 61 points in 61 games this season, good enough for eighth place in NHL scoring.
News: John Gibson stopped 39-of-40 shots faced Sunday night in Dallas. Analysis: This was John Gibson's fifth win in his last six starts, as it appears that both him and his team have worked their way out of a slump. However, it appears that Gibson will be relegated to backup duties very soon with regular starter Frederik Andersen fully recovered from a head/neck injury. Keep a close eye on Gibson's status for upcoming games.
News: Chris Terry recorded an assist during Saturday's 5-3 win over the Islanders. It was his first game back in the lineup after missing the previous four contests as a healthy scratch. Analysis: With 11 points in 38 games, Chris Terry has been fairly productive when he's been in the lineup, but given that he's frequently watching from the press box, it's hard to recommend him. When he does play, he typically sees fourth-line minutes of 10-12 minutes per game, which is a further drag on his fantasy value. Go with another option if you have one.
News: Zbynek Michalek (concussion) was acquired by the Blues on Monday in exchange for a prospect and a future draft pick, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports. Analysis: Zbynek Michalek is facing an uncertain return date after sustaining a concussion in mid-February, but his acquisition by the Blues suggests the team feels confident he might not be out for too much longer. The Blues have been struggling a bit defensively since Kevin Shattenkirk underwent abdominal surgery, but Michalek's impending arrival should at least give the blue line an added shot-blocking presence. However, don't expect Michalek to come close to matching Shattenkirk's output in the scoring categories, as he managed just eight points in 53 games with the Coyotes before succumbing to the head injury.
News: Brian Flynn was traded to the Canadiens on Monday in exchange for a 2016 fifth-round draft pick, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports. Analysis: As a depth forward set to become an unrestricted free agent, Brian Flynn didn't command a high asking price from the Sabres. Even as a top-six player the last few games for Buffalo, Flynn's value was minimal, and it will probably take a bigger hit with the move to Montreal. Though he should receive a plus/minus upgrade playing for a more formidable squad, his expected presence on the Habs' third or fourth line will more than likely inhibit his offensive production. It's not yet known if Flynn will be able to join the Canadiens in time for their game Monday in San Jose.
News: Chris Thorburn was credited with an assist in Sunday's win over the Kings. Analysis: Chris Thorburn only has 11 points on the season and shouldn't be counted on outside of specialty formats. Much of his value lies in his ability to pick up PIM, which he hasn't been doing with much regularity lately. He's been absent from the penalty box for the last nine games.
News: Jake Muzzin recorded an assist in Sunday's loss to the Jets. Analysis: Jake Muzzin was paired up in the game with Andrej Sekera, who was acquired by the Hurricanes last week in an effort to bolster the blue line. Though Muzzin would probably stand to gain a little more value sticking alongside Drew Doughty, Sekera is certainly no slouch. Don't expect Muzzin's outlook to change much with the transaction, as fantasy owners should continue to deploy the 26-year-old as they normally would.
News: Bryan Little collected an assist and went plus-2 in Sunday's 5-2 victory over the Kings. Analysis: Bryan Little has only two points over his last five games, but the relative dry spell can probably be forgiven based on how hot he was earlier in February. He finished the month with five multi-point games, which puts him on track to match or surpass last season's career-best 64-point effort.
