Player News
Sean Monahan
Flames' Monahan Tallies Assist In Win
Sean Monahan, C, CGY
1/29/2015
News: Sean Monahan tallied an assist in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Sabres.
Analysis: Though the 20-year-old saw his goal streak hit the skids at four games, he was at least able to keep his run of consecutive games with a point alive. His quick learning curve as the team's No. 1 center has been a key reason the Flames have been surprisingly competitive in the Western Conference this season. With 15 goals and 16 assists in 48 games, he's just three points shy of matching the point total he posted as a rookie.

Taylor Hall
Oilers' Hall Day-To-Day
Taylor Hall, LW, EDM
1/29/2015
News: Taylor Hall is day-to-day with a lower leg injury.
Analysis: Per coach Todd Nelson, Taylor Hall is dealing with "a bone bruise," and while it doesn't sound like an especially serious injury, the forward's status for Thursday's game against the Sabres is cloudy.

Mark Giordano
Flames' Giordano Remains Hot
Mark Giordano, D, CGY
1/29/2015
News: Mark Giordano notched an assist and four shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Sabres.
Analysis: Mark Giordano still finds himself as the league's top-scoring blueliner with 41 points, and it's actually quite surprising he hasn't created some more separation from the Blues' Kevin Shattenkirk (39 points) in light of his recent play. In his last five games, Giordano has racked up six points and 17 shot attempts. If those shot totals keep up, the goals could start coming in droves for Giordano, who has surprisingly found the net just once in his last 13 contests.

Tomas Jurco
Red Wings' Jurco Back In Business
Tomas Jurco, RW, DET
1/29/2015
News: Tomas Jurco (back) is slated to return to the Detroit lineup Thursday against the Lightning, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.
Analysis: Tomas Jurco, who last suited up on Jan. 6, was held without a point in his last five games. Overall, he has recorded 12 points in 37 contests, with his return to the lineup Thursday set to make Daniel Cleary the odd man out up front for the Wings.

Raphael Diaz
Flames' Diaz Picks Up Second Point
Raphael Diaz, D, CGY
1/29/2015
News: Raphael Diaz was credited with an assist in Tuesday's win over the Sabres.
Analysis: It's just the second point in 26 games for Raphael Diaz, who has been a healthy scratch for roughly half of the Flames' games this season. A return to the press box likely awaits him once Ladislav Smid (undisclosed) returns from injury, and as his point totals would suggest, Diaz has little upside while he retains a lineup spot.

T.J. Brodie
Flames' Brodie Gathers Assist Tuesday
T.J. Brodie, D, CGY
1/29/2015
News: T.J. Brodie gathered an assist and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Sabres.
Analysis: After totaling 21 points through the end of November, T.J. Brodie has seen his offense slow down over the last two months, producing only nine points during that span. The entirety of his output for the season holds enough weight to make him worthy of a roster spot in most leagues, but it seems doubtful that he'll reemerge as the top-10 fantasy blueliner he was during the early part of the season.

Matt Beleskey
Ducks' Beleskey Nabs Game-Winner
Matt Beleskey, LW, ANA
1/29/2015
News: Matt Beleskey supplied the game's first goal (and eventual winner) in Tuesday's 4-0 rout of the Canucks.
Analysis: With his 18th goal of the season, Matt Beleskey has already doubled up his 2013-14 total while playing in eight fewer games. A downturn in his assist totals have prevented a huge point season from materializing, but his surplus of goals have allowed him to climb up to second place on the team in that category.

Kyle Palmieri
Production Keeps Coming For Ducks' Palmieri
Kyle Palmieri, RW, ANA
11:56 AM
News: Kyle Palmieri found the net for a power-play goal in Tuesday's win over the Canucks.
Analysis: The goal was Kyle Palmieri's 10th overall on the season, and fourth with the man advantage. Despite missing about half the season due to ankle and shoulder injuries, Palmieri has shined for the Ducks when healthy, tallying 15 points in 24 games, including five in his last six.

Patrick Maroon
Ducks' Maroon Thriving On Top Line
Patrick Maroon, LW, ANA
11:52 AM
News: Patrick Maroon notched an empty-net goal in Tuesday's 4-0 thrashing of the Canucks.
Analysis: A week off the schedule did little to slow Patrick Maroon from staying productive, as the goal helped him extend his point streak to four games (three goals, three assists). He's seen ice time above his season average in all four of those contests, suggesting coach Bruce Boudreau is content with keeping him on the top line with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry. He's worth a look while he remains in that favorable arrangement, but can probably be dropped once an inevitable slump hits.

Tyler Kennedy
Sharks' Kennedy Misses Wednesday Morning's Skate
Tyler Kennedy, C, SJ
11:50 AM
News: Tyler Kennedy (unspecified issue) was not at Wednesday's morning skate, according to David Pollak of the Mercury News.
Analysis: Tyler Kennedy -- who has seven points in 18 games to date -- skated Tuesday, so it's unclear if his absence Wednesday is injury or maintenance-related.
