Player News
Anton Khudobin
Canes' Khudobin Stops 30 Shots In Loss
Anton Khudobin, G, CAR
12:55 PM
News: Anton Khudobin stopped 30 of the 31 shots he faced in Sunday's loss to the Rangers.
Analysis: Anton Khudobin was great Sunday, but got no offensive support in a 1-0 loss. The 28-year-old is still searching for his first win this season, posting an 0-8-2 record, to go with a .900 save percentage and 2.91 GAA. Considering the Hurricanes sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with just 22 points, it's hard to see Khudobin piling up the wins anytime soon. The backup to Cam Ward won't provide much fantasy value unless the Hurricanes get their season back on track.

Cam Talbot
Rangers' Talbot Blanks Hurricanes
Cam Talbot, G, NYR
12:41 PM
News: Cam Talbot pitched an 18-save shutout in Sunday's win over Carolina.
Analysis: Cam Talbot has been outstanding recently, recording a shutout in three of his past four games. The 27-year-old is now 3-3-1 on the season with an impressive .928 save percentage and 2.02 GAA. He has been one of the best backups this season and is a great fantasy option whenever starter Henrik Lundqvist gets the night off.

Jannik Hansen
Canucks' Hansen (Undisclosed) Will Play Monday
Jannik Hansen, RW, VAN
11:24 AM
News: Jannik Hansen (undisclosed) will play Monday against the Coyotes.
Analysis: Jannik Hansen collapsed on the bench in the second period of Sunday's game, resulting in a precautionary stay in the hospital over night and skipping practice Sunday morning. However, he was expected to be available for Monday's game, and now has been confirmed as such.

Patrick Wiercioch
Sens' Wiercioch (Undisclosed) To Play Monday
Patrick Wiercioch, D, OTT
11:19 AM
News: Patrick Wiercioch (undisclosed) will play Monday against the Capitals, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Analysis: Patrick Wiercioch missed the previous three games due to the undisclosed injury, but he will return for Tuesday's contest, knocking Chris Phillips out.

Ben Bishop
Bolts' Bishop (Lower Body) Unlikely Wednesday
Ben Bishop, G, TB
11:02 AM
News: Coach Jon Cooper indicated Ben Bishop (lower body) is doubtful to questionable for Tuesday's game against the Penguins, Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune reports.
Analysis: Ben Bishop resumed skating Saturday after being limited to on ice work, which is a step in the right direction. However, he seems to be sliding towards out for Tuesday's contest, as the report indicates Andrey Vasilevskiy will likely receive the start in net.

Frederik Andersen
Ducks To Start Andersen On Monday
Frederik Andersen, G, ANA
10:49 AM
News: Frederik Andersen will start between the pipes Monday against the Sharks, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Analysis: Frederik Andersen is coming off a great performance, allowing just one goal on 24 shots en route to his 18th win of the season. He will take a .913 save percentage and 2.41 GAA into Monday's matchup against a decent Sharks' attack.

Joel Armia
Sabres' Armia May Get Call-up
Joel Armia, RW, BUF
10:44 AM
News: Joel Armia is a good candidate to receive a call-up, reports the Olean Times Herald.
Analysis: With Brian Gionta reeling from a head injury and 10 players in the infirmary, Joel Armia may get his call-up very soon. The team has already called up Tim Schaller, but that may not be enough for the depleted Sabres. Armia has played very well this year and is one of AHL Rochester's most dangerous offensive weapons. The former 16th overall pick is a talented sniper and should give the Sabres some offensive punch. He's got the potential but needs to build a track record in the NHL to be a viable fantasy option.

Brian Gionta
Sabres' Gionta Questionable For Tuesday
Brian Gionta, RW, BUF
10:38 AM
News: Brian Gionta left Sunday's game against Boston and may not play Tuesday, reports the Olean Times Herald.
Analysis: Brian Gionta took a hit to the head from Boston defenseman Matt Bartkowski and left the game. The Sabres captain admitted he still didn't feel quite right Monday and is questionable for Tuesday. With the league entering a break Wednesday, the Sabres may hold Gionta out of the lineup for precautionary reasons. He's considered a game-time decision.

Marcus Foligno
Sabres' Foligno To Miss Time
Marcus Foligno, LW, BUF
10:35 AM
News: Marcus Foligno hurt his hand against Boston on Sunday, reports the Olean Times Herald.
Analysis: Marcus Foligno hurt his hand after a fight with Matt Bartkowski, who hit Sabres captain Brian Gionta with a hit to the head and was later handed a game misconduct. It's been a tough winter for the Sabres, who are playing their best hockey this year but now have 10 players out with injury or illness. Foligno likely hurt his hand after punching Bartkowski's helmet and is expected to be out "a while." The big forward has nine points in 28 games this season and will likely be sidelined until January. No word on exactly what is wrong with the hand, though.

Cory Schneider
Devils' Schneider Expects To Start Tuesday
Cory Schneider, G, NJ
10:16 AM
News: Cory Schneider believes he will start Tuesday against the Hurricanes, Rich Chere of the Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Cory Schneider has hit a rough patch in net recently, losing each of his last four starts. His team has given him little support offensively, being shut out in two of the four contests. If he indeed starts Tuesday, the netminder will face a Hurricanes team averaging the second-least goals per game this season.
