News: Al Montoya will be in the crease Monday vs. the Avalanche, Jim Toth of 680 CJOB reports. Analysis: Al Montoya came on strong to spell Ondrej Pavelec on Saturday vs. the Senators, knocking away all 12 shots to keep the bleeding from getting worse. The quality performance was enough to convince coach Paul Maurice to give Montoya the start Monday, but even with another solid outing, he probably won't displace Pavelec as the No. 1 starter.
News: Steven Stamkos' frustrations continued Monday when he was held off the scoresheet in a shootout loss to the Coyotes. He has not picked up a point in three games since returning from injury. Analysis: He has eight shots, but five of those came in his first game back. He's struggling to find his groove now that Martin St. Louis has left Tampa Bay. Stammer will settle soon enough, but he needs to develop some chemistry with another playmaker. Until then, his fantasy value may be a bit depressed.
News: Ales Hemsky had three helpers Monday against the Predators. Analysis: That is back-to-back games with three assists for Ales Hemsky, who is also now a plus-3 since moving from Edmonton to Ottawa.
News: Ryan Callahan picked up an assist Monday in a shootout loss to the Coyotes. He now has an assist in each of his last two games. Analysis: He was a huge physical presence Monday night -- he laid eight hits and blocked two shots. The points are a nice bonus.
News: Craig Anderson made 26 saves on 29 shots before colliding with Milan Michalek and having to leave the game Monday against the Predators. Analysis: Craig Anderson's status is unknown at the moment. Robin Lehner will start going forward if Anderson is unable to go.
News: Pekka Rinne made 34 saves on 27 shots in an overtime win against the Senators on Monday. Analysis: This is Pekka Rinne's first win in four starts since returning from his long-term injury. If he remains healthy, he should be able to give your fantasy team a late season boost.
News: Tyler Johnson notched a shorthanded goal Monday against Phoenix. His point streak stands at four games and four points, including three goals. Two of those goals and the assist have come shorthanded. Analysis: Speed kills and that's what this guy has. He completely turned the defender inside out (the guy got so twisted around he ended up on his butt) and then roofed it. Tyler Johnson sits third in rookie scoring this season with 41 points, including 20 goals. The next Mighty Mite? Maybe.
News: Ben Bishop only made 17 saves on 20 shots in a shootout loss to the Coyotes on Monday. Analysis: Ben Bishop has had an excellent year, although recently his numbers have dipped. He's lost four in a row, and he has let in at least three goals in all of those starts.
News: Mike Smith made 28 saves on 31 shots in a shootout win over the Lightning on Monday. Analysis: Mike Smith has picked up the win in three of his last four starts, although he doesn't rank in the top 20 in either save percentage or GAA. However, he has played more games in net than anybody, so at the very least you can rely on him getting a bunch of starts as the Coyotes fight for the playoffs.
News: Ondrej Palat scored two goals and added an assist Monday in a 4-3 shootout loss to Phoenix. He has five points, including three goals, in his last two games. Analysis: He has 11 points, including six goals, in his last nine games and he now sits second in rookie scoring with 42 points. Use him while he's hot.
