Player News
T.J. Oshie
Blues' Oshie (Upper Body) Will Play In Game 2
T.J. Oshie, RW, STL
4/20/2014
News: T.J. Oshie (upper body) is participating in pregame warmups and will play in Saturday's Game 2 against the Blackhawks, NHL.com reports.
Analysis: T.J. Oshie was considered questionable to play heading into Saturday after missing Game 1 with an upper-body injury. He skated prior to the game and will be in the lineup Saturday afternoon.

Vladimir Sobotka
Blues' Sobotka Gets Two Assists
Vladimir Sobotka, C, STL
6:35 PM
News: Vladimir Sobotka (lower body) picked up two assists in Saturday's Game 2 win over Chicago.
Analysis: He's coming off the best offensive season of his career and could be a solid secondary source of points for your playoff pool.

Kevin Shattenkirk
Blues' Shattenkirk: Three-Point Game
Kevin Shattenkirk, D, STL
6:31 PM
News: Kevin Shattenkirk had a goal and two assists in Saturday's Game 2 win over Chicago.
Analysis: He has four points in two games this postseason and could be an offensive force if the Blues continue to force the Hawks' hand.

Fedor Tyutin
Jackets' Tyutin Suffers Undisclosed Injury
Fedor Tyutin, D, CLB
6:26 PM
News: Fedor Tyutin likely suffered an injury during Saturday's Game 2, as he did not play in the second period, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Analysis: Fedor Tyutin logged his normal amount of ice time in the first period, but he didn't play in the second period and has yet to take the ice through the first half of the third. He took a couple big hits early in the game, according to Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch.

Barret Jackman
Blues' Jackman Nets Winner In OT
Barret Jackman, D, STL
6:26 PM
News: Barret Jackman scored the game-winning goal in Game 2 on Saturday to give the Blues a 2-0 series lead over the Blackhawks.
Analysis: He's not known for his scoring prowess, but he was johnny on the spot with a seeing-eye shot through a sea of legs. He only had three goals and 15 points during the regular season.

Brian Gibbons
Penguins Gibbons Likely Suffers Injury
Brian Gibbons, C, PIT
6:21 PM
News: Brian Gibbons did not play in the second period of Saturday's Game 2 and did not return for the start of the third period, Shelly Anderson of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis: Brian Gibbons is presumably dealing with some sort of injury, as he scored two goals in the first five minutes of Saturday's game. If he doesn't return, he'll finish with a pair of marks and one hit in just 2:26 of ice time.

David Backes
Blues' Backes Not Doing Well After Injury
David Backes, C, STL
4:09 PM
News: Speaking after Saturday's Game 2, Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said David Backes (head) is "not good," Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
Analysis: David Backes took a hard hit to the head from Chicago's Brent Seabrook during Saturday's game, and it was immediately clear that the star center would not be able to return. He had trouble standing up on the ice, displaying obvious symptoms of a head injury or concussion. The early signs for his Game 3 availability are not good, to say the least.

Brenden Dillon
Stars' Dillon Unlikely To Play Game 3
Brenden Dillon, D, DAL
3:15 PM
News: Brenden Dillon (lower body) may skate Sunday but is still unlikely to play in Monday's Game 3 against the Ducks, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports.
Analysis: Brenden Dillon missed the first two games and is seemingly headed for a third absence, but his potential return to the ice is at least a sign of progress. If he does get back on the ice Sunday, he'll presumably have a decent chance to play in Game 4 or 5 (if necessary).

Brent Seabrook
Blues' Seabrook Ejected For Hit On Backes
Brent Seabrook, D, CHI
3:03 PM
News: Brent Seabrook received a game misconduct penalty for a vicious hit on the Blues' David Backes during Saturday's Game 2, CSN's Tracy Myers reports.
Analysis: Brent Seabrook caught Backes with a forearm to the head, after the Blues' center had given up the puck. Backes' head smacked back against the boards, and he exited the game with what will likely be diagnosed as a concussion. There's no question that the hit was dirty, and injuring a star player certainly won't help Seabrook's chances of avoiding a suspension. The NHL would probably prefer not to suspend key players during the playoffs, but this hit was indefensible.

Brenden Morrow
Blues' Morrow (Foot) Not Warming Up
Brenden Morrow, LW, STL
11:51 AM
News: Brenden Morrow (foot) will not play in Saturday's Game 2 against the Blackhawks, NHL.com reports.
Analysis: Brenden Morrow missed the final three games of the regular season with the foot injury but returned to the lineup for Thursday's Game 1. However, the issue appears to be persisting, as he was a late scratch for Saturday's matinee.
