Simon Despres
Ducks' Despres Collects Two Helpers
Simon Despres, D, ANA
12:32 PM
News: Simon Despres notched two assists in Tuesday's Game 3 loss to the Flames.
Analysis: Simon Despres continues to shine in his first playoff run with Anaheim. He now has five points -- all assists -- in his seven postseason games thus far. Despres had failed to tally any points in his meager six games of playoff experience with the Penguins. While his role on the Ducks may be limited playing behind the likes of Sami Vatanen and Hampus Lindholm, Despres should continue to see regular ice and could become a valuable fantasy producer in the coming seasons.

Frederik Andersen
Ducks' Andersen Suffers First Postseason Loss
Frederik Andersen, G, ANA
12:23 PM
News: Frederik Andersen gave up four goals on 21 shots in Tuesday's Game 3 overtime loss to the Flames.
Analysis: He and the Ducks were headed for a 3-2 victory -- assisted by a controversial no-goal call -- and a 3-0 series lead until Johnny Gaudreau scored on a power play to tie the game with 20 seconds remaining. Frederik Andersen proceeded to give up the winning goal to Mikael Backlund early in overtime. However, due to his previously unbeaten record in the playoffs, the Dane probably deserves a pass for this one. Look for Andersen to return to the cage in Calgary on Friday night for Game 4.

David Desharnais
Habs' Desaharnais (Illness) A Go For Game 3
David Desharnais, C, MON
9:29 AM
News: David Desharnais (illness) will play in Game 3 on Wednesday against the Lightning, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Analysis: David Desharnais missed Game 2 and was hospitalized due to the illness, but will return to the lineup for a pivotal Game 3 matchup. Assuming nothing occurs during the contest, he should be good to go moving forward.

Ben Bishop
Lightning's Bishop Starts Game 3
Ben Bishop, G, TB
8:24 AM
News: Ben Bishop was the first goaltender off the ice at morning skate Wednesday and will start Game 3, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: Ben Bishop remains the Bolts top goaltender, and is coming off a string of solid performances in net thus far in the postseason. He's bested Carey Price in the first two games of the series, and will look to do so again in Game 3 on Wednesday.

Cedric Paquette
Lightning's Paquette Game-Time Decision
Cedric Paquette, C, TB
8:19 AM
News: Cedric Paquette (undisclosed) indicated Wednesday that he's feeling better, but is still sore and is a game-time decision for Game 3, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis: Cedric Paquette was limited to just 4:36 of ice time in Game 2 due to the injury, and he could play even less in Game 3. Given the club's 2-0 lead in the series as it shifts back to Tampa, it wouldn't be surprising if they take things cautious with him to avoid a larger injury. He hasn't been ruled out yet, but if he can't go, the Lightning have a bevy of forwards to turn to in his place.

Michael Latta
Caps' Latta Suffering From Illness
Michael Latta, C, WAS
8:05 AM
News: Michael Latta was not at practice Wednesday due to an illness, Alex Prewitt of the Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Michael Latta hasn't seen any ice time this series anyway, so the fact that he's ill doesn't really change much for the Capitals. However, he won't be present at practice, and likely wouldn't be available for the club if needed.

Mikael Backlund
Flames' Backlund Pots Game 3 OT Winner
Mikael Backlund, C, CGY
7:03 AM
News: Mikael Backlund scored his first career playoff goal Tuesday, beating the Ducks' Frederik Andersen 4:24 into overtime to deliver a Game 3 victory.
Analysis: Finally in the NHL playoffs after five fruitless campaigns with Calgary, Mikael Backlund hadn't made much of a postseason impact until Tuesday, as he'd tallied just a single assist over the Flames' first eight playoff games. But this was a huge goal, as it cut the Ducks' series lead to 2-1, with Friday's Game 4 in Calgary looming large.

Johnny Gaudreau
Flames' Gaudreau Comes Up Big In Game 3
Johnny Gaudreau, LW, CGY
6:35 AM
News: Johnny Gaudreau scored the tying goal on a power play with 20 seconds remaining in the third period of Tuesday's Game 3, sending it to overtime, where the Flames came away with a 4-3 win.
Analysis: With the net behind him empty and a six-on-four opportunity, Johnny Gaudreau brought the puck down into the offensive zone, saw some space open up, stepped into it, and fired the puck past Frederik Andersen. The goal represents his first point of the series, as the Ducks did a tremendous job of shutting down Gaudreau over the first two games, limiting him to just a single shot on goal in each contest. Can't keep Johnny Hockey down for long, though.

Ryan Getzlaf
Another Two Assists For Ducks' Getzlaf
Ryan Getzlaf, C, ANA
6:32 AM
News: Ryan Getzlaf racked up two more helpers Tuesday in a Game 3 loss to Calgary.
Analysis: He just keeps on racking points during these playoffs -- a cool dozen now, with eight of them having come in the last three games. Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry have now combined for a simply crazy 26 points in Anaheim's seven playoff games, and fantasy owners can thank the Flames for winning Game 3 to extend the series a little -- thus giving the Ducks' top forwards a chance to build their point totals even more.

Karri Ramo
Flames' Offense Bails Out Ramo In Game 3
Karri Ramo, G, CGY
6:22 AM
News: Karri Ramo gave up three goals on 21 shots, but came away with an overtime victory in Game 3 against Anaheim on Tuesday.
Analysis: He was headed for a loss before Johnny Gaudreau bailed him out with 20 seconds left in the third period, then was tasked with turning away only two shots in overtime -- one of them a very tough chance by Corey Perry -- before Mikael Backlund buried the game-winner. It's unclear at this time whether Karri Ramo or Jonas Hiller will be between the pipes for Friday's Game 4, so check back if you've got a fantasy stake in the Flames' goalie situation.
