Player News
Ryan Getzlaf
Ducks' Getzlaf Takes Shot To Foot
Ryan Getzlaf, C, ANA
12:53 PM
News: Ryan Getzlaf briefly left Wednesday's game against Montreal late in the third period after blocking a shot with his left foot.
Analysis: He returned shortly thereafter, but keep an eye on Ryan Getzlaf's status in the next few days in case he'll be forced to miss any time. Getzlaf leads all NHL forwards with 81 blocked shots this season.

Rickard Rakell
Ducks' Rakell Ends Goal Drought
Rickard Rakell, C, ANA
12:43 PM
News: Rickard Rakell ended a 15-game goalless skid with a second-period tally in Wednesday's win over the Habs.
Analysis: He's currently playing on the Ducks' third line with Emerson Etem and new acquisition Jiri Sekac. The trio were the bottom three Ducks in terms of ice time Wednesday night, so don't expect their scoring to greatly improve while their opportunities remain so limited.

Ryan Kesler
Ducks' Kesler Records Assist In Win
Ryan Kesler, C, ANA
12:34 PM
News: Ryan Kesler recorded an assist on Cam Fowler's empty-netter Wednesday night against the Habs.
Analysis: Ryan Kesler now has points in three of his last four games, so it looks like he's worked himself out of the slump that plagued him for much of February. It's probably time to start rolling him back into your lineup.

John Gibson
Gibson Leads Ducks To Win Over Habs
John Gibson, G, ANA
12:21 PM
News: John Gibson stopped 37 of 38 shots Wednesday night in a 3-1 win over Montreal.
Analysis: John Gibson's stellar play of late is a nice luxury for the Ducks. He's managed to win six of his past seven starts -- pretty successful for a backup goalie. If Gibson can continue delivering strong performances in net, expect him to see a number of starts down the stretch, as the Ducks are likely inclined to keep No. 1 goalie Frederik Andersen fresh for their playoff run.

Casey Cizikas
Isles' Cizikas On Track To Play Thursday
Casey Cizikas, C, NYI
10:38 AM
News: Coach Jack Capuano said Casey Cizikas (lower body) will return to the lineup Thursday against the Predators, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
Analysis: Though Casey Cizikas still remains listed on the Isles' injured reserve list, the team is expected to open up a roster spot for him at some point in the afternoon by either assigning a forward to the minors or placing another active player on IR. The fourth-line center, who has six goals and 14 points in 53 games this season, hasn't suited up since the Feb. 16 tilt with the Rangers.

Eric Boulton
Isles' Boulton To Return Thursday
Eric Boulton, LW, NYI
10:34 AM
News: Eric Boulton (lower body) is on track to play Thursday against the Predators, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
Analysis: After completing the Isles' morning skate with no complications, Eric Boulton is set to join the lineup for the first time since Jan. 17. He's still being listed on injured reserve for the moment, but expect the team to rectify that at some point in the afternoon. Boulton, who has appeared in just four games this season while serving primarily as a healthy scratch, is expected to replace the suspended Matt Martin on the Isles' fourth line.

Jaroslav Halak
Isles' Halak Enters Net Thursday
Jaroslav Halak, G, NYI
10:30 AM
News: Jaroslav Halak will be in the crease for Thursday's game against the Predators, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
Analysis: Jaroslav Halak might be starting to feel some more pressure on his job security after the Isles acquired Michal Neuvirth from Buffalo at Monday's deadline, but he'll still enter the net for the second straight game since the trade. Though his season ratios (2.47 GAA, .911 save percentage) aren't spectacular, Halak has ridden a productive supporting cast to a 33-13-1 record. Only two goalies have recorded more wins than him in 2014-15, with one of them being the Preds' Pekka Rinne, who he is expected to square off against Thursday. The Predators rank second in the NHL with 89 points, but the team is in the midst of its worst slump of the season, losing four straight games entering Thursday's tilt.

Trevor Daley
Stars Rule Out Daley For 2-To-4 Weeks
Trevor Daley, D, DAL
9:47 AM
News: Coach Lindy Ruff announced Thursday that Trevor Daley (lower body) would miss the next 2-to-4 weeks, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Trevor Daley was on the receiving end of a vicious knee-to-knee hit from the Isles' Matt Martin in the first period of Tuesday's match, which sent Daley to the locker room and earned Martin a one-game suspension. The loss of Daley, whose 16 goals on the season rank second among all blueliners, is yet another blow for a squad that is already missing its top player in Tyler Seguin (knee). In Daley's absence, Jordie Benn, Jyrki Jokipakka, and Patrik Nemeth will be guaranteed regular spots in the Dallas lineup, though none of those options possess nearly the same amount of offensive upside.

Jared Spurgeon
Wild's Spurgeon Could Play Friday
Jared Spurgeon, D, MIN
9:41 AM
News: Jared Spurgeon (head) will not play Thursday against the Caps.
Analysis: On the plus side, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press relays that Jared Spurgeon is feeling better and could return to action as soon as Friday against the Hurricanes.

Kyle Quincey
Wings' Quincey Logs 18 Minutes In Return
Kyle Quincey, D, DET
9:40 AM
News: Kyle Quincey returned to the lineup Wednesday in a 2-1 victory over the Rangers after missing the previous five games.
Analysis: Kyle Quincey isn't much of a scoring threat with 13 points in 53 games, but he's a solid defender and eats up a lot of minutes. He's more important to the Wings than to anyone's fantasy team.
