Isles Trade Leggio To Coyotes

News: David Leggio was traded from the Islanders to the Coyotes on Monday in exchange for Mark Louis, agent Brian Bartlett reports.
Analysis: With the Isles' addition of Michal Neuvirth before the trade deadline, the club had more than enough depth among their netminders, making David Leggio expendable. He will likely serve in a similar role with the Coyotes, adding a little more organizational depth in net for the remainder of the season. Over 23 games with AHL Bridgeport this season, the 30-year-old has posted a 3.93 GAA and .861 save percentage.

Hawks' Leighton Continues To Thrive In AHL

News: Michael Leighton, who is considered fourth on the Blackhawks' goalie depth chart, continues to thrive at AHL's Rockford, getting his his 14th win Friday by turning aside 22 of the 25 shots on goal by the Texas Stars in the IceHogs' 4-3 overtime win, the team's official website reports.
Analysis: Michael Leighton has been playing well in the AHL, but it does not seem to be helping him when it comes to the Blackhawks. Right now, he is just veteran depth in goal for Chicago. Leighton has been in goal for 30 games with a 14-10-2-4 with a 2.18 goals against average and a .923 save percentage. For him to get to the big club, there would have to be injuries to a pair of goalies among the group of Corey Crawford, Antti Raanta and Scott Darling.
