Hawks' Kane Still On Target For Return

News: Patrick Kane, who is out with a broken clavicle, is still on track to return by the Western Conference Finals in the Stanley Cup playoffs if the Blackhawks get that far, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Analysis: The original diagnosis was that Patrick Kane would miss 12 weeks that put his return by the Western Conference Finals. Blackhawks' coach Joel Quenneville though sort of left open the door that he could return earlier. Kane has recently been skating on his own so it has spurred some optimism in the Blackhawks' camp that he will return before the conference finals.

Penguins' Dupuis Done For Season

News: Pascal Dupuis, who has not played since Nov. 15 after being diagnosed a blood clot in his lung, will not play again this season, NHL.com reports. "Based on the doctor's report I don't believe we'll see Pascal this year, and that's a big loss," GM Rutherford said Monday. "He's not going to be cleared to play until June."
Analysis: While Pascal Dupuis, who finished with 11 points in 16 games this season, won't play again this season, Rutherford expressed optimism with regard to the veteran forward's playing prospects for the 2015-16 campaign. "I do feel very confident that (Dupuis) will return to the team next year," Rutherford noted Monday.

Zykov Picks Up Pair Of Goals In QMJHL Saturday

News: Valentin Zykov picked up two goals in Gatineau's (QMJHL) 4-1 win over Shawinigan on Saturday.
Analysis: Injuries have limited Valentin Zykov to just 42 games this year between Baie-Comeau and Gatineau, but he does have 21 goals and 46 points in those contests. He's always had more talent than his junior stats have indicated and he has the potential to put up big numbers when he turns pro next season. Zykov signed his entry-level contract with the Kings in May 2014.
