Fantasy Analysis
Shawn Matthias has struggled to make an impact this season. Matthias has just one point over his last six games. Still, at only 24-years old, Matthias has some value as a long-term keeper option. (Updated 03/09/2012).

Martin Brodeur stopped 24 shots for his 100th postseason win, and a three-goal first period was enough to help the New Jersey Devils spoil the Florida Panthers' long-awaited return to the Stanley Cup playoffs in a 3-2 victory Friday night.
Matthias chipped in with 16 points (6 G, 10 A) in 51 games played for the Panthers this past season. An injured ankle and constant line shuffling did not allow Matthias to take the leap that most fantasy owners had been anticipating. The one-time top prospect for the Panthers is still a year or two away from making a true fantasy impact. Matthias has the size to be a decent two-way center, but needs to work on the little things in order to make the leap from the AHL to the NHL. Matthias is best reserved as a sleeper/keeper pick based on his overall talent and breakout potential. (Updated 10/4/11)
