Burish Unlikely To Play Opener For Sharks
Burish is doubtful to appear in the Sharks season opener Thursday against Vancouver, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.Burish hasn't played since the Sharks' preseason opener and, while he may be close to healthy, he still needs to get into game shape. All signs point to Burish sitting out at least the first game of the season.
|Adam Burish is likely to remain a fourth-line winger for the Sharks to start the season. He's as solid a fourth-line player as they come, but he'll have limited playing time with the toothed teals. In previous years, he might have seen some penalty kill time, but that doesn't matter much for the majority of fantasy owners. Burish has posted decent points in previous years the 10 to 20 range and generally ends the season with a positive plus/minus rating. But last season, he only managed to get three points in 46 games, posted the worst shooting percentage of his career and finished with a minus-7 rating after four straight seasons with positive ratings. Burish is a great grinder for the Sharks, but last year's production could be a sign his expiry date is approaching. (Updated 8/12/13) |
