Fantasy Analysis
Michael Grabner's goal in the third period looked to be the game-winner until the Penguins tied the game with about about five minutes remaining. Alas, it wasn't meant to be. (Updated 5/11/13).
05/11/2013 22:20 Orpik nets OT winner, Pens eliminate Islanders in 6
Brooks Orpik scored 7:49 into overtime, and the Pittsburgh Penguins overcame three one-goal deficits in Game 6 to eliminate the New York Islanders with a 4-3 victory on Saturday night.
Michael Grabner had a disappointing sophomore season on the Island as he clocked in at 20 goals after potting 34 the year before as a rookie. One contributing factor for Grabner's production last year was that he battled leg injuries which hindered his speed, and speed is a huge part of his game. While he posted 54 less shots than in 2010-11, what also hurt his production was an inability to light the lamp on breakaways. Grabner seems to get one of those every other game but didn't have the skills or luck to score like he did the year before. In other words, the chances were there, but the production wasn't.Grabner's value remains higher in keeper leagues and a return to his 30-goal form could make him a bargain at the end of a draft.
