Fantasy Analysis
Jamie McGinn has been producing wonderfully for deep-leaguers of late despite rather limited ice time. In fact, his power-play goal came despite skating only 28 seconds with the man advantage. A moderately productive scorer in the AHL over the last few seasons, McGinn seems to finally be finding his offensive game with the Sharks. (Updated 12/14/2011).
02/11/2012 01:18 Blackhawks drop seventh straight game
Benn Ferriero scored the tiebreaking goal with 14:20 remaining in the third period to send the San Jose Sharks off on a lengthy trip on a winning note, beating the Chicago Blackhawks 5-3 on Friday night.
McGinn is a physical winger still looking for a full-time role in the NHL. Over the past three seasons, his playing time has been divided fairly evenly between the Sharks and minor league affiliate Worcester. He'll have to be more consistent in order to be an everyday player at the NHL level, but even if he passes that test, McGinn would likely be confined to the lower lines in 2011-12. Be patient with No. 64 as he continues to grasp the nuances of the NHL. (Updated 10/4/11)
