Fantasy Analysis
Durno, 30 years old, tallied 36 points (19 goals, 17 assists) in 73 games in the AHL last season. This is a depth signing for the Canes, and it's unlikely we'll see Durno grab a large role in the NHL this season. (Updated 07/15/2011).
04/21/2010 01:13 Pavelski hits OT winner, Boyle hits right net; Sharks tie Avs in series
Joe Pavelski scored 10:24 into overtime and Evgeni Nabokov stopped 33 shots, giving the San Jose Sharks a 2-1 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday and tying the series at two games apiece.
Durno is a huge winger (6-foot-4, 223 pounds) which gives him an advantage when it comes to dropping the gloves, but he's failed to make much of an impression in the NHL. The Avalanche let him play 43 games between the 2008-10 seasons, but that's been the extent of his playing time at hockey's highest level of competition. However, he's been journeying through the AHL ever since 2005, and is likely to continue that trend after signing a one-year, two-way contract with the Hurricanes last July. (Updated 8/16/11)
