Fantasy Analysis
Roster limitations forced Mike Santorelli to the bench for Game 1. He saw his ice time decrease toward the end of the regular season with more talented centers ahead of him, so the decision to deactivate him shouldn't be overly surprising. (Updated 04/13/2012).
02/28/2012 22:00 Santorelli, Panthers beat struggling Leafs
Mike Santorelli scored twice Tuesday night as the Florida Panthers handed the sinking Maple Leafs a 5-3 loss, an all-too-familiar outcome for fans in Toronto.
Santorelli tallied 41 points (20 G, 21 A) during his first season with the Panthers in 2010-11. He finally had the breakout season owners had long hoped for and the Panthers rewarded the center with a new two-year deal. Santorelli's career-high 41 points was good enough for second on the Panthers this past season. With some better forwards to work with this season, we'd expect Santorelli's point production to meet or exceed his 2010-11 totals. (Updated 10/4/11)
