Sabres' Sulzer To Miss At Least A Week
Sulzer, who left Thursday's game against the Hurricanes with a a head injury, will miss at least a week, The Buffalo News reports. The team hasn't said anything yet, but knowing it's at least a week for Sulzer's estimate, the worry is that it's a concussion or concussion-like symptoms. The defenseman just came back from an unrelated industry, so it's been a rough spell for him lately. The team might need to recall Chad Ruhwedel to provide blue line depth in Sulzer's absence.
Sabres' Sulzer Suffers Another Injury
Sulzer left Thursday's game with an upper-body injury and will not return.Making his return from a lower-body injury, Sulzer logged just 1:23 of ice time before being forced back out of action. With the two issues seemingly unrelated, it's unclear exactly where he stands.
Sabres' Sulzer Draws Back In Thursday
Sulzer (lower body) will return to the lineup Thursday vs. the Hurricanes.Sulzer was given a one-to-two week recovery timetable after suffering the lower-body injury last Friday, but it appears he'll hit the low end of that frame after skating the last few days without incident. He's expected to replace Chad Ruhwedel in the Sabres' lineup.
Sabres' Sulzer Closing In On Return
Sulzer (lower body) was on the ice at Tuesday's morning skate and looks to be close to a return, Amy Moritz of the Buffalo News reports. While Sulzer won't be available for Tuesday's tilt with the Predators, coach Ted Nolan suggested Sulzer could be back on the ice Thursday vs. the Hurricanes. He'll be monitored at Wednesday's practice before Nolan and the team's medical staff get a better idea when he'll make his return.
Luongo gets shutout, 2-0 over Buffalo
SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) Robert Luongo's return to Florida couldn't have been better.
|Alexander Sulzer reached unrestricted free agency in the offseason, only to re-sign with the Sabres just days later. He posted four points in 17 games last season before knee surgery ended his season. Be all accounts, he should be ready to reclaim a depth role on the Sabres blue line when training camp kicks off. Hes shown little in the way of offense in his NHL career to date, so he doesnt project to be of much value to fantasy leaguers. (Updated 8/12/13) |
