Blues' Berglund Playing Saturday
Berglund (upper body) is officially active for Saturday's game against the Stars, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports.Berglund will return to the ice, after missing the last three games. With six points (one goal) through 18 contests, he's been a bit of a disappointment for fantasy owners. Berglund tallied 25 points in 48 games last season, including 17 goals. He's actually putting more shots on goal this season, but they just haven't been going in.
Blues' Berglund Poised To Play Saturday
Berglund (upper body) appears likely to play after he was on the ice for pregame warmups, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.Barring a last-minute setback, Berglund will take the ice Saturday for the first time in three games. With six points in 18 games this season, he's been only a bit contributor offensively while noticing his ice time this season decline by almost a full minute from 2012-13.
Blues' Berglund A Game-Time Decision Saturday
Berglund (upper body) will be a game-time decision Saturday vs. the Stars, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports.Berglund has missed three straight games with the injury but at least appears to be in consideration for a return to the lineup Saturday. Coach Ken Hitchcock will wait and see how Berglund skates in pregame warmups before rendering a decision on his status for the game.
Blues' Berglund Out For Thursday
Berglund (upper body) will miss Thursday's game against the Bruins, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.Head coach Ken Hitchcock noted that Berglund is feeling better, and is targeting either Saturday's game against the Stars or Monday's game against the Wild for a return. The center has one goal and five assists in 18 games this season to go along with 14 PIM.
Blues too much for Sabres 4-1
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) Brenden Morrow scored twice and the St. Louis Blues continued their mastery of the Buffalo Sabres with a 4-1 win Tuesday night.
|Patrik Berglund's past season could best be described as inconsistent and one dimensional, at least in fantasy terms. His 17 goals ranked 17th in the league which puts him in the second tier of NHL goal scorers. But his inconsistency and mere eight assists make him a difficult daily play. He led the league is shooting percentage at 23 percent, but the goals come in serious bunches and the dry spells in between are hard to swallow. The sixth-year center signed a one-year contract by his choice, thinking that it will be an incentive for him to take his game to the next level. We hope so. There's plenty of potential there, but it has been a long time coming. (Updated 8/12/13) |
