Fantasy Analysis
Jonathan Toews was runner-up to Vancouver's Ryan Kesler for the award in 2011. While defense is on Toews' mind, the Blackhawks would like to get his offense going. Toews only had two assists in Round 1 against the Wild and that came in the last game of the series. He's close to a point-per-game pace in the postseason during his career with 17 goals and 35 assists in 57 playoff contests entering Game 1 against the Red Wings in the Western Conference semifinals. 05/15/2013 22:48 Blackhawks beat Red Wings with balance, solid play in goal
Johnny Oduya and Marcus Kruger scored in the third period, Corey Crawford made 20 saves and the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-1 in the opener of their second-round playoff series Wednesday night.
Jonathan Toews will be looking to rebound this season after injuries hurt him during his 2011-12 campaign. A concussion limited him to just 59 games last year, but he was in the middle of a goal-scoring outburst when he went down and still finished the season with 29. We are a bit concerned by the concussions -- that wasn't his first. But there is no doubt that if he stays away from injuries, he rebound to his usual dominating self. And that's a guarantee of 30 goals, as many points as games, great plus-minus and power-play production. (Updated 8/14/12)
