Teddy Purcell scored twice, and Mathieu Garon made 27 saves to help the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Dallas Stars 2-1 on Friday.
Wandell has been slow to regain his form and speed he showed prior to a knee injury a year back, and will have to battle some recent roster additions (Tomas Vincour, Jacob Dowell, and Vern Fiddler) for ice time this season. He projects as a fourth-line center when he plays. (Updated 10/4/11)
