Fantasy Analysis
This will be the third game missed in the last seven days for Ryan White, who may be suffering from something other than a simple flu. Interim head coach Randy Cunneyworth was responding to questions about Carey Price's headache, when he noted White might be in the same situation. "We have a few other guys in the same boat, and I think we'll all acknowledge there's been a lot of flu and cold symptoms around that you get confused sometimes," said Cunneyworth. Danny Briere scored a pair of goals, Ilya Bryzgalov made 23 saves and the Philadelphia Flyers clinched a playoff berth with a 4-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night.
03/24/2012 14:05 Chris Neil likely to avoid discipline for shoving linesman
Chris Neil spent a lot of time in the penalty box on Friday night, but he's likely to avoid any sort of discipline from the league for shoving linesman Pierre Champoux
White was called up from Hamilton in January and after some initial stumbles, including a subsequent demotion to the AHL and some healthy scratches, stuck with the Canadiens as regular on the fourth line for the final 25 games of the season. He played all seven of Montreal's playoff games, giving the Canadiens a bit of sandpaper on the forward line and earned himself a one-year deal in the offseason. It looks like he'll make the major league roster from the get-go in 2011-12, but we don't see a big offensive role for him. (Updated 8/16/11)
