Mike Smith posted his fourth shutout of the season after getting into first-period altercation with Anze Kopitar, Radim Vrbata tied a career high with his 27th goal, and the Phoenix Coyotes beat the Los Angeles Kings 1-0 on Thursday.
Westgarth has three points in 65 games at the NHL level so his only value is going to come from taking trips to the sin bin. He recorded 105 PIMs in 59 games last year for the Kings so he's not one of the top goons out there by any stretch. He'll be back in a similar role for the Kings again this year. (Updated 8/16/11)
