Enstrom has two points in nine games: Thrashers D Tobias Enstrom scored a goal during Friday's game against the Capitals. Capitals goalie Michal Neuvirth ran into trouble less than three minutes into the game when Rich Peverley's shot bounced off his shoulder and Enstrom scored on the rebound. It was his fifth goal of the season and first since Jan. 12.

| Fantasy Analysis |
Enstrom has just two points in his last nine games and Fantasy owners are beginning to wonder if he is about to go into a prolonged cold spell. The subtraction of Ilya Kovalchuk is likely going to take away some of Enstrom's chances for assists. However, he has really developed into a solid puck-moving defenseman, and we feel he should get back on track. Hopefully, he can use the Olympics to jump start his game. Enstrom is still a high-end Fantasy option.

| Thrashers D Tobias Enstrom had a bit of a sophomore slump offensively in 2008-09, finishing with only 32 points on the year. That’s six less points than he recorded in his rookie season the year prior. However, he did have a marked improvement in his plus-minus rating, going from minus-5 in 2007-08 to plus-14 in 2008-09. He has not missed a game since coming into the league, playing full 82-game schedules the past two seasons. Enstrom has great skating ability and positions himself well on the ice, but his one knock has been a lack of strength. He is solid on the power play as well, making him a useful option in leagues that reward shorthanded stats. The Thrashers blue line is young and talented with Enstrom being one of the up and coming forces for the Thrashers defensively. Consider him a No. 5 Fantasy option on Draft Day. (Updated 8/18/09) |
