Antropov hasn't exactly been lighting up the scoreboard lately, but remains worth using in deeper leagues as a mid-range starting Fantasy forward.

| After spending the first 8-plus seasons of his career with the Maple Leafs, forward Nik Antropov was shipped off to the Rangers in a deadline deal last season. The Rangers and Antropov couldn’t get a deal done in the offseason and the Thrashers swooped in and lured him down to Atlanta. Antropov had the most productive season of his career in 2008-09, racking up 59 points in 81 games with Toronto and New York. In fact, Antropov has seen an increase in production in each of his last four seasons. That trend hopefully won’t change with the move to Atlanta as he’ll be expected to take some of the scoring burden off of Ilya Kovalchuk. Think of Antropov as a No. 4 or 5 Fantasy forward on Draft Day with the ability to surprise some people in his first year in Atlanta. (Updated 8/18/09) |
