He's reportedly also still bothered by a hand injury that might even require surgery, so while Nik Antropov probably would have been able to gut out a playoff run, the fact that the Jets didn't make the postseason dance leaves Antropov in better health for next season's drafts. Still, he may be spending a good portion of his summer healing up. (Updated 04/13/2012).
04/07/2012 22:06 Stamkos joins 60-goal club, Purcell has hat trick in Lightning's OT win
Steven Stamkos scored his 60th goal of the season and Teddy Purcell had a hat trick -- including the overtime winner -- and the Tampa Bay Lightning ended their season with a 4-3 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday.
Antropov went through one of the biggest letdown seasons of his career last season, posting just 16 goals, 25 assists and 41 points and a minus-17 rating (24 G, 43 A for 67 points and a plus-13 rating in the 2009-10 season). He started last season in a huge slump and with so much young talent on the Jets, don't expect him to flirt with the 70-point plateau this year as he seems more comfortable in a supporting role.
