Fantasy Analysis
"Well, we're still playing, so he got an opportunity to practice with us," said coach Darryl Sutter. "You need lots of live ammo. Somebody asked (about Simon Gagne's availability) a week or so ago, and there was no chance then, because he hadn't even skated with the team. All you do is improve your (chances). You go from zero to whatever." Gagne would seem like an unlikely insertion into the lineup given the Kings' run so far this postseason, but he could work his way back into the lineup if the Kings fall behind in the series or one of the regulars sustains an injury. 12/13/2011 21:41 Bruins spoil Stevens' debut with Kings
Brad Marchand scored twice and Tuukka Rask earned his first shutout of the season, leading the Boston Bruins to a 3-0 victory over Los Angeles on Tuesday night in the Kings' first game under interim coach John Stevens.
Gagne battled injuries again last year but the Kings are banking on a return to health out of the former 40-goal scorer. Gagne flourished with Mike Richards previously in Philadelphia but the Kings could also decide to pair him up with the uber-talented Anze Kopitar. A return to health may be wish-casting, but the upside is there if he can lace up the skates on a nightly basis. (Updated 10/4/11)
