Turco back in net Tuesday: The Dallas Morning News reports that Stars G Marty Turco will be back in net Tuesday after sitting in favor of Alex Auld for the previous three games. (Updated 02/01/2010).

| Fantasy Analysis |
Turco has been brutal this season, and had allowed 17 goals in his last four starts before being sat on the bench. Unless he plays very well on Tuesday, Turco might just get this one start in Fantasy Week 18 (Feb. 1-7) and is only worth risking in super-deep two-goalie leagues as a desperation No. 2 option. The Stars TG is a very low-end option, too. (Updated 02/01/2010).

| When Dallas lost out on the Jonas Gustavsson sweepstakes in the offseason, they turned their attention to Alex Auld, who played under Stars head coach Marc Crawford in Vancouver in the early 2000s. Dallas was able to swing a sweet deal to land Auld, who will now provide backup to Marty Turco. Auld spent the 2008-09 season with the Senators. He went from backup to starter to backup numerous times, so he was a bit of an unreliable Fantasy option. He posted a 16-18-7 record with a 2.47 goals-against-average, .911 save percentage and one shutout. Auld won three of his last four outings with Ottawa, but when it became evident that Pascal Leclaire and Brian Elliott would be the combo the Senators would use in net this season, Auld became expendable. Auld had the most extensive work of his career in 2005-06 playing for Crawford in Vancouver. He posted a career-high 33 wins in 67 games. Auld will definitely spare Turco, who was overworked last season, at times in 2009-10. However, Auld is at best a No. 3 Fantasy goalie, flier in leagues that use average points per game and handcuff option for Turco owners. (Updated 8/20/09) |
