Comrie has two points since return: Oilers C Mike Comrie scored a goal during Thursday's game against the Wild. Comrie scored on a power play in the second period, seconds after a 5-on-3 ended. The two-time 30-goal scorer missed 30 games this season because of mononucleosis.

Comrie has two points in four games since coming back. He is going to get his chance to play down the stretch as Edmonton evaluates its talent moving forward. Comrie has low-end Fantasy appeal until further notice.

Oilers cool off 'Canes, end 13-game losing skid
Marc Pouliot and J.F. Jacques had a goal and an assist each, and the Edmonton Oilers ended a 13-game losing streak by beating the Carolina Hurricanes 4-2 on Monday night.

| There have been rumors that unrestricted free agent Comrie is in negotiations with the Minnesota Wild, but nothing has been made official yet. Comrie was once a 30-goal, 30-assist guy in 2005-06 with the Coyotes, but slumped to just 27 points last year with the Islanders and Senators. Comrie has the skills to be a 50-point guy no problem, but his Fantasy value will depend greatly on where he ends up in 2009-10. If he hasn’t signed by the time you draft, he will only be worth taking a flier on in later rounds. (Updated 8/19/09) |
