Comrie sits out due to mononucleosis: Edmonton C Mike Comrie sat out of Saturday's game against Chicago due to mononucleosis. He is questionable for Monday against Phoenix.

Comrie has now missed two games due to the illness and may be out a bit longer as mononucleosis can take some time to get over. He should be benched in all formats for Fantasy Week 8 (Nov. 23-29). When healthy, Comrie is just a low-end Fantasy option to begin with.

| There have been rumors that unrestricted free agent Comrie is in negotiations with the Minnesota Wild, but nothing has been made official yet. Comrie was once a 30-goal, 30-assist guy in 2005-06 with the Coyotes, but slumped to just 27 points last year with the Islanders and Senators. Comrie has the skills to be a 50-point guy no problem, but his Fantasy value will depend greatly on where he ends up in 2009-10. If he hasn’t signed by the time you draft, he will only be worth taking a flier on in later rounds. (Updated 8/19/09) |
