Jackman at plus-7 in January: Blues D Barret Jackman tallied an assist and finished at plus-1 on Monday against the Flames. He has two goals and a season-high six points in 12 January games. He is also at plus-7 in that span.

| Fantasy Analysis |
Jackman missed a month earlier in the season with an ankle injury, but he has been full go ever since mid-November. Jackman logs a ton of PT for St. Louis, but he isn't always factoring on offense. He has been a little more consistent since Davis Payne took over behind the bench, so it will be interesting to see where he goes from here. Jackman remains a low-end Fantasy flier.

| If you attended or watched a Blues' game in 2008-09, there was a good chance you saw defenseman Barrett Jackman on the ice during penalty-killing situations. The seven-year veteran was second in the NHL last season with 359:57 of short-handed time. It was a career high for Jackman, but nothing new for him as he has been a top penalty-killer through the years. While he did finish with a career-low minus-17 mark, Jackman did break 20 points for the second time in his career. He totaled four goals and 17 assists in 82 games. It was the second time in his career he played a full NHL season. Jackman also totaled 86 penalty minutes, 124 hits and 145 blocked shots. The 6-0, 209-pound defenseman is not afraid to give up his body for the betterment of the team. Jackman remains just a low-end Fantasy flier in standard leagues because of marginal offensive skills, but is worth a look in all leagues that reward heavily for short-handed stats.
