Fantasy Analysis
Impressive work by Chris Kelly, who hadn't scored a game-winning goal in his 61 prior playoff games. This was a career-best offensive season for Kelly both in goals and total points, so it's great for the Bruins to see him take it into the playoffs. (Updated 04/12/2012).
04/14/2012 18:58 Caps win in 2OT, tie series vs. Bruins
Nicklas Backstrom scored 2:56 into the second overtime Saturday to give the Washington Capitals a 2-1 victory over the Boston Bruins and tie their first-round playoff series at a game apiece.
04/12/2012 23:07 Kelly's snipe gives Bruins overtime win
Chris Kelly's slap shot from the faceoff circle beat Caps goalie Braden Holtby to give the Bruins a 1-0 series lead.
04/12/2012 22:59 Braden Holtby not enough for Capitals
Braden Holtby was outstanding for the Capitals, but he didn't get much help from the players in front of him.
Kelly was brought in by the B's for the stretch run to add center depth and character to the team's forward mix and he delivered just that, more so in the playoffs, where he racked up five goals and 13 points in 25 games. Kelly isn't going to put up big fantasy numbers in his first full season in Boston, but he's a savvy player with good wheels who is a very nice role player for the defending champs. (Updated 10/4/11)
