| In his first season away from Pittsburgh, LW Ryan Malone saw his numbers go down a tad with the Lightning in 2008-09. He played 70 games in the season, missing the final two after breaking his hand against his former team. He had 45 points last season with 26 goals and 19 assists, finishing with a plus-4 rating. Malone was coming off of his best campaign with the Penguins in 2007-08 when he scored 27 goals and had 24 assists for a total of 51 points. He could have an improved second season with the Lightning but don’t expect him to make it through a full season as he has not played a full 82 games yet in his career. The broken hand should be healed fully heading into training camp, so Malone is safe to take as a No. 5 or 6 Fantasy option on Draft Day. (Updated 8/18/09) |
