Fantasy Analysis
The goal was Mike Ribeiro's first of the series as he cleaned up a mess in front stemming from a deflected shot to give Washington the win in the always-pivotal Game 5. The Caps would like Ribeiro to play a bit more consistently, but the series has hardly been a showcase for the teams' skill players. Ribeiro had one assist over four games before Friday. 05/12/2013 19:17 Rangers ride Brassard goal, Lundqvist to Monday Game 7
Henrik Lundqvist stopped 27 shots in earning his seventh NHL playoff shutout, and Derick Brassard scored a second-period goal for the New York Rangers, who stayed alive with a 1-0 victory over the Washington Capitals on Sunday that forced a Game 7 in the first-round series.
One of the league's more underrated playmakers, Ribiero joins the Caps after several productive seasons with Dallas. Ribiero is coming off consecutive 71 and 63-point seasons with the Stars and is expected to give Washington another center with the capability of potting more than 15 goals. Look for Ribiero to see power-play time with the team's top unit and challenge 60-65 points once more. He can be a good value provided you don't pay too much for him. (Updated 8/14/12)
