Coyotes Place Boedker On IR
Boedker (upper body) has been placed on IR by the Coyotes, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports. With the Coyotes having referred to Boedker as week-to-week earlier Monday, his placement on IR is not surprising. At this stage, there is no timetable for Boedker's potential return to action.
|Mikkel Boedker had a breakthrough year in 2013-14, putting up his first 50-point season and scoring 19 times (19/32/51). That included five goals and 16 points on the power play for Arizona, turning himself into a legitimate second-line left winger. Perhaps most importantly for his outlook, he nearly doubled his previous season high in shots on goal with a respectable 166. The departure of Radim Vrbata may give him more time on the power play this year and if he can improve on his shot total again, he should crack the 20-goal plateau for the first time. Given his age he should be a Coyote on the rise in fantasy leagues. (Updated 8/13/14) |
