Fantasy Analysis
Ouch, not numbers expected from a former first round pick. Josh Bailey signed a two-year contract with the Isles just before training camp began, but one has to wonder if the Isles are starting to regret that decision. (Updated 01/04/2012).
01/24/2012 22:08 MacArthur's OT goal lifts Leafs in win
Clarke MacArthur's second goal of the game at 2:06 of overtime lifted Toronto over the New York Islanders 4-3 on Tuesday night, giving the Maple Leafs a sweep of the home-and-home series.
01/19/2012 21:48 Isles snap 13-game losing streak in Philly
Evgeni Nabokov made 40 saves and the New York Islanders snapped a 13-game losing streak in Philadelphia with a 4-1 victory over the Flyers on Thursday.
Bailey was a disappointment last year with only 11 goals, 17 assists, and a minus-13 rating. His season was so bad that the Isles sent him to the AHL for a few weeks to get his game on track. This may have been a way of admitting that the team made a mistake and rushed Bailey to the NHL after selecting him in the first round of the 2008 draft. The center is still a part of the team's future and will be given every chance to live up to his top billing . He now has better talent around him, but is no better than the club's second-line center and that assumes that this year's first-round pick Ryan Strome does not make the team. (Updated 10/4/11)
