Sabres' Leino Dealing With Lung Issue: Ville Leino is dealing with a lung issue, WGR 550 reports. "He had some issues with his lung yes that he's dealing with and he's actually a lot better, he's doing well right now," coach Ron Rolston noted of Leino on Thursday. (Updated 4/25/13)

In any case, Ville Leino won't play Friday against the Islanders as the Sabres close out their season. Leino finishes an injury-riddled campaign with six points in just eight games. (Updated 4/25/13).
Ville Leino's first season in Buffalo was a massive disappointment after signing a six-year, $27 million deal as a free-agent in 2011. He struggled to just 25 points in 71 games after posting 53 points for the Flyers in '10-11. Leino has fallen way down the depth chart and may only get a chance to redeem himself if injuries hit the Sabres again in '12-13 considering how many skilled forwards Buffalo has. Despite what looks like a poor fit in Buffalo, he's too talented to not have a slight rebound and post 35-40 points in '12-13. (Updated 8/14/12)
