Myers suffered two broken ribs March 25 against the Canadiens, the Buffalo News reports.Myers missed the last 10 games of the season with the broken ribs, but will presumably be fine for the start of next season. He finished the 2013-14 campaign with nine goals and 13 assists in 62 games.
Sabres Not Ruling Out A Return For Myers
The Sabres aren't ruling out a return for Myers this season. After Sunday, the Sabres will have just four games remaining on the schedule, meaning Myers will really have to ramp up his activity level in the next few days if he hopes to play again this season. The uncertainty of his timetable probably makes him waiver wire fodder over the season's final week, when having reliably healthy players is paramount.

|During the lockout Tyler Myers played with Klagenfurter AC (Austria) but missed nearly a month with an ankle injury. Once he returned to the States, Myers stumbled his way through a disastrous NHL campaign, posting a career-low eight points in 39 games and finding himself a healthy scratch on a couple of occasions. Hes been trending downward since his 48-point, rookie-of-the-year campaign in 2009-10, and is no longer seen as a franchise cornerstone. However, theres still potential here, and last year was likely as bad as its going to get for the 68 defender. Playing a full season should allow Myers to have a rebound year, playing a more solid all-around game and posting 25-30 points. (Updated 8/12/13) |
